About the restaurant
Terroni Adelaide, formerly the York County Courthouse, is a multi-level heritage structure built in 1852. Just inside the doors is the Enoteca with its towering columns, a great spot for cocktails. Beyond is the main dining room, with a sunlit atrium, fireplaces on each end and private rooms all serviced by an open kitchen where our chefs prepare traditional Italian fare. In summer, the secret garden patio opens for al fresco dining in the heart of the city.

Head down to the Cantina Wine Cellar where you will see the original courthouse cells now used to store our Italian wine. The second floor houses the grand Sala da Pranzo and Bar delle Carceri, named after the cells below. Il Covo degli Artisti, our third-floor space is a cosy lounge once home to The Arts and Letters Club where Canadian landscape painters “The Group of Seven” ate and drank in 1909.

We went for dinner and celebrated my nephews bday, and the service, ambiance, history of the building and most importantly, the food was superb. We started with burrata and prosciutto, funghi salad, calamari and carpaccio.. all amazing, baratta was a crowd favourite, mine was the funghi salad. Second were the pizzas, we had the sausage pizza and the goat cheese aubergine pizza…. Simply amazing, third were the pasta.. the bolognese was so delicious along with the mushroom prosciutto.. just wow. And pls have their desserts! The tiramisu and the affogato were so amazing. Will definitely go back. And not to forget their incredible wine selection !! Must try

Excellent experience. We had the Chef’s Tasting menu. Tuna Tartare, Scallops, Duck, Lamb, Dessert. Everything was delicious We were celebrating our 18th Anniversary, and we received a complementary dessert (a second dessert!) and coffee Service was great, ambiance was mostly perfect. One patron was incredibly loud, and, according to her, Jake Paul is a psychopath I don’t hold that against the restaurant, because that is out of their purview

El Catrin never disappoints. The food was excellent. The service was exceptional. We had a group of seven for a holiday celebration with colleagues and they were very patient with us as we chatted and took a bit longer to order. The guacamole is so delicious! And the flight of margaritas was excellent. I shared with a friend. I had the blood orange and hibiscus which were so good. My friend found them a bit sweet. Thank you!

Our first experience at the Bauer Kitchen was outstanding. They present an excellent selection of options on the menu and a wine list with reasonably priced options. Service was prompt and friendly. The noise level was a bit higher than we would typically like, but it didn’t prevent conversation. We were also informed that the other side of the restaurant (northwest) was a bit quieter if we found the noise level too much. Also a good beer selection on tap. My new favourite place in Waterloo.

Great ambiance, bright inside with glass walls seeing out to the street. Very comfortable and good value for a fine dining experience downtown. The food was very tasty, just a bit saltier than I'd prefer. Service was excellent. Plan to be back!

Love this restaurant. This time was a business type meeting and my colleague was more than 30 minutes late. The staff was great - no pressure to order etc. enjoyed the food immensely. She is not a vegetarian but loved it!!

I had a fantastic dining experience at Scaddabush! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a night out. The staff was attentive and friendly, making sure everything was just right. The food was absolutely delicious – the fresh pasta and flavorful sauces truly stood out. We also loved the burrata, which was creamy and perfectly paired with the bread. 4 of us went on Oct 31st and enjoyed a great meal starting with Caesar salads, then the Pappardelle pasta dish on the Special Fall menu was enjoyed by 3 of us. It didn't disappoint, was delicious and a nice size for the money. So glad they are making it a permanent item on their ongoing menu. My husband had a steak which was tasty and extremely tender. A couple of us finished off our dinner with the raspberry cheesecake, another great choice. Our server, Estera, provided excellent service with her pleasant personality.. Attentive but not in your face all the time. Overall a great dinner out at a very nice restaurant. We will not hesitate to return.

I was supposed to have lunch in a different place and saw Ricarda's on my way there. When I got to the place I really didn't like it and made a quick reservation to Ricarda's. I am so glad I did! The staff was wonderful, the place was beautiful, prices were approachable and I could talk to my friend instead of shouting over music. Really loved it, I would 10/10 recommend

Absolutely wonderful experience. Spectacular Japanese cuisine, with a festival of flavors, textures all in finesse. Strongly recommend pairing your meal with house suggestions of wine and saké. Not cheap but well worth every penny. Superb service. It can get a bit noisy when crowded.

Unlike many others, this establishment does not offer a buffet, which allowed for a more personalized dining experience. The staff was exceptionally friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we stepped in. Both the managers and hostess were accommodating, ensuring that all our needs were met throughout the evening. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas, adding a festive touch that enhanced the overall atmosphere. The tasteful decorations created a cozy and inviting environment, perfect for enjoying a delicious meal. Can’t wait to go back , see you next year Copacabana !

Very cool spot! I love the fact that this is a student run restaurant. The only feedback we had was that the steaks were a bit heavy on the pepper and a bit tough (even the rarer cook). I would come back for sure.

Top sirloin was good and cooked as requested. However the steaks and accompaniment came out so fast that we were nowhere close to completing our cocktail and entree. When we stated this fact to the person presenting us our meal, we were offered an opportunity to have him return the dish (cooked steak and sides) to a warming oven! Obviously, presented these options, we accepted our steaks and continued on with our meal (however, now we went on by combining the remainder of our cocktail, with the remainder of our entree along with the quickly “getting cold” hunk of meat at the same time! Sort of al la carte! Dining experience! Ironically, the sommeliers request for us to order a bottle or glass of wine shortly after delivering the steak to as (to accompany or now melange dining experience) was refused. Also, we wanted to avoid the possibility of receiving our wine, to be poured and be presented immediately after with an opportunity to order and receive our coffee/apparetif and our dessert, 5 minutes later. Somone at the Keg needs to revisit the basic steakhouse traditions - your steak should only be fired within “a reasonable time “ after someone on the team has first checked in with the customer (at the time of order or within a reasonable time thereafter) that “they” want the meal (aka: steak) fired as soon as the order arrives in the kitchen or, at or the time the customer has completed their entrees and cocktails Other than that, the food was great! Some could argue in reply to my comments above that it was “my” responsibility to guide and direct Kegs staff on my options and choices. In other words, that the onus was on me to notify and alert their staff on my “special” needs? Rest assured that I did not punish my server. Not at all for this! He was tipped generously for serving a party of 2 on 11/24/2024! This nice young man was extremely courteous, personable and engaging! Who am I to teach him the traditions of a high end steakhouse!

Neros was understanding of my need to cancel and reschedule for a half hour due to traffic and the bridge being closed from a car fire and Neros accommodated us by squeezing us in. We were celebrating my wife's birthday ( on November 19 ) and had a very satisfying dinner experience. Our server Laura was fantastic. She took care of all our requests and needs. We started off with drinks which were very enjoyable. The starter salads were good but we've had better. The steaks and prime rib were both very good and cooked to our order. All of the accompanying side dishes ( bake and mashed potatoes } along with the vegtables were perfect. As it was a birthday celebration our night was topped off with a complementary piece of Billy Minor Pie. Being Seniors we would consider the Keg to be a little expensive to visit on a regular basis but for special accaisions it's our go to choice. Thanks again for a very enjoyable dinning experience . One of the Frank Gehry-designed spaces, AGO Bistro is conveniently located on the first floor with access from Dundas Street. The restaurant is casual chic: modern Danish furnishings are paired with acrylic tabletops in a multitude of vibrant colours. Etched glass and vertical-grain Douglas fir also accent the space. Shared a green salad with grilled salmon, and augmented it with an order of the AGO Bistro's always great french fries with aoili. For dessert, Rebecca our fantastic waitress suggested a panna cotta made from coconut and a purple tuber (Ubé?), which was like a rich rice pudding without the rice. Great lunch, great service!
