For a holiday evening, this was the place to go! Decidedly, a beautiful location, the atmosphere felt very festive, the food, from appetizer through dessert, every plate was wonderfully prepared and presented. Highlights were the butternut squash soup, Wagyu, beef carpaccio, and the scallops. Chef Dommen presented an experience that won’t be forgotten!

Great dinner experience downtown! Ask for an elevator keycard on your way to the 5th floor (not marked in the elevator). Unless raining, the outdoor seating has a nice lounge vibe, and heaters. Nice drinks and bar area. Food and service were great, with some accessible comfort foods that my kids recognized and loved, nice ambiance. This place deserves to do well!

Because when you walk into the location, its main entrance is on Market Street. While you walk through the lobby back to where the restaurant is, you are amazed by the ceiling. Yesterday was a bright sunny 92° day and the light that came through the ceiling and through the stained glass with marvelous magnificent, and yet the room was in great temperature. The service was spectacular. The food was excellent. The ambience was superb. The waiter and the staff were excellent. The hostess put us in the middle of the room, which ironically enough there was a wedding party seating behind us and at no time did you feel like it was a noisy environment the rosé from Paso Robles was spectacular. I had an excellent hamburger and my guest. My business client had a marvelous salad whether you’re going here for lunch for a business meeting or to celebrate an event you will enjoy the atmosphere in the opportunity and by the way on new Montgomery there is a valet service as well.

The Golden Retriver of fine dining…friendly & reliably excellent! The waiter was patient and paced the check-ins so not to be intrusive. Our steak was cooked perfectly. (Also, highly recommend the cooked prawns!) Finally, we sat in the main dining area. Although busy, the noise level was livable. Beware to bring a jacket or sweater, they keep the temperature frosty. However, the host made an adjustment after one request. We’re coming back!

Amazing gastronomic experience, albeit on the very expensive side, especially when 22% gratuities are already added. Having said that, service was fantastic, we were stuffed at the end of the 8 courses and really marveled at the Chef’s creations. The best part though, were the cocktail drinks and the Granny Smith apple for desert. These two things were definitely worth it.

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary there because A Cote is one of our favorite restaurants, and we’ve had so many stellar meals and celebrations there over the years. Our go to place for visitors from far and near, and everyone asks to come back. Great place!

Fifteen of us were warmly welcomed for lunch at two tables. With a vast menu, the gluten-free person and the vegetarian at our table were satisfied. The food was brought quickly and overall was very flavorful. I enjoyed the fish with veggies. The salt & pepper tofu was crispier than I’ve had but tasty. Overall, everyone enjoyed the afternoon.

We loved our night at Osso Steakhouse. With the exception of one person who did not like the way his steak was prepared, everyone else thought the food was super yummy. Crab cakes - exceptional. Branzino - exceptional. Petite Filet - perfect. Appetizers (I'm looking at you cheese bread!), salads and sides - quite memorable. Wine list - fun to peruse and with the help of our waiter, we found a lovely pinot that worked for the table. We all loved the waiter and the other staff - so warm and friendly and helpful. We left happy. Very happy. When I am next in SF, I will return.

The food quality at Octavia is very high. The chefs really know what they’re doing. We had a pre-fixe menu for Christmas Eve dinner and they accommodated dietary restrictions with advanced notice. They actually called a few days in advance of the reservation to confirm the dietary restrictions which was really nice. We had 9 courses I think and they were all delicious. My favorites were the soup and the pasta dishes. The service was also very good, the servers were very attending and accommodating. There was one dish I didn’t eat much of because it had radicchio in it which I don’t like, and our server offered to have the kitchen make me a replacement dish with a different lettuce instead. The only negative of Octavia is that it feels very cramped. The space is small and they squeeze in a lot of tables so you’re sitting basically on top of other diners and it’s a little awkward. Everything else was great though. I would definitely recommend Octavia as a good place for special occasions or bringing out of town visitors.

Joyous experience. Our third or fourth time here, fabulous food and service each time. Maz and Jordan are extremely attentive and friendly. The dishes are exquisite and delicious. The Taste of the ocean dish is a must. So good. The menu changes seasonally, with some staples on there year round.

We love The Refuge! The pastrami is consistently good, and they easily and pleasantly accommodate our dietary requests (gluten and dairy allergies) as well as our 5 year olds custom order. Eating on the front patio is pleasant. The servers are friendly.

Love this cute place! Great Mexican food with excellent service. Much nicer than most Mexican restaurants with white tablecloths and nice art on the walls, but still has a casual and relaxed atmosphere. So nice that it’s quiet and you can have a conversation. This place deserves to have more customers for sure! We have eaten here before and will certainly do so again.

We loved the welcoming staff and server. The food is delicious, and the drinks are original (not a full bar). But we were rushed toward the end of our meal because all the other patrons had left, and the staff wanted to close up. In total, we were in only for 56 min, and at 8:00 pm, we were in the street. I didn't have time to finish my drink. We will again, though.

Service is excellent! Grilled fish and sushi are authentic and exceptional in the San Jose area. The appetizers especially the salmon Tata is less than expected- just does not work , either the hard and too chewy Cristy rice or the salmon itself

The band was very good, but way too loud for a dinner venue. If you were just going to hear the band, it would’ve been wonderful, but the music was so loud we used a decibel meter to check the noise level, which we NEVER do. Conversation was impossible.

Nice spot for lunch. I had a lunch special - Caesar salad and jackfruit tacos. My friend had chilaquiles de pollo. The food was very good and the service was excellent. The noise level was such that I would have liked to sit outside, but this rainy day put a damper on outside dining. I'll definitely return on a warmer, dryer day.

This is a hidden gem. I live close by and had never been here before. I celebrated my birthday with pitchers of margaritas that were perfect. The food was delicious but would benefit from more options. The mole enchiladas were delicious. The flan was also delicious. I will come again.

Everything was excellent I just thought it was a bit classless for the person who seated us to tell us we only had 90 minutes. Pretty sure at this point we all know the limit and it should be the server to keep track and guests not to be told before they even sit down that their time is limited!!

A legendary hangout in North Beach since it opened in 1919, and even more so from the 1980's onward when Jeanette Etheredge took over Tosca. Locals including Willie Brown, Lars Ulrich and Francis Ford Coppola were regular fixtures, Hunter S Thompson wrote his column for the SF Examiner in the corner booth, Bono, Lauren Hutton, and Mikhail Baryshnikov played pool in the back room, singing Opera and drinking Tosca House Cappuccinos. When Restaurateur Anna Weinberg and Interior Designer Ken Fulk heard Tosca Cafe was closing they joined forces to save it. As the new owners and passionate fans of the original establishment their goal was to return Tosca to its rightful place as a San Francisco institution. As Mikey Rapin wrote in Bon Appétit magazine: “It’s the kind of joint Beats got bounced, Bono belted opera, and a bullet hole memoralizes the night an A-LIST actor disagreed with a rockstar's choice of music"

Tosca remains one of my absolute favorites in San Francisco. The space, food, service all excellent. The night we went was Santa Con (ooops) + a huge private birthday party in the back room so it was bonkers, but the team did everything they could to keep it going! Will go back soon.

Went to Wilder SF for Christmas dinner. My wife had the prime rib special and I had the pork chop dinner. Both were amazing. The pork chop had a wonderful sweet and salty flavor—no complaints on anything! We did the roast cauliflower for an app and they were super thoughtful of my allergies and skipped the flash fry since calamari goes in it (seafood allergy) and let us know it would take just a touch longer. Appreciated the safety and communication. We finished with affogato for dessert which is served in a waffle cone. A little twist on a classic. I wouldn’t normally like a waffle cone with it but it made it perfect to split with my spouse who really enjoys that part. Great place. Can’t wait to go back.

Great food! We will return. The staff is a little stretched, but that's just a post-covid world. It wasn't all that busy, just busy enough to slow things down. She was attentive and efficient in her job. The pozole is not to be missed! It's not just a soup.

Father and daughter owners spread a little love with every meal—their love of good Italian wine, delicacies from their native Abruzzo region in Italy, and a desire for every visitor to their quaint North Beach spot to enjoy both the food and the visit. Lamb skewers were top notch, as was their deconstructed eggplant dish over couscous. Sooo good! We will be back on our next visit to the area :)

The food was really good. I had the salmon. The service was excellent! My only complaint is that it was super loud. There was a group of women who were ridiculously loud. We noticed it as soon as we walked in. When seating couples this needs to be taken into consideration. They should have offered us a table in the curtained off room.

Cassava is truly a gem in San Francisco, and my recent visit only reinforced why it’s such a beloved spot. The food was simply outstanding—every dish was beautifully prepared, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care. What made the evening even more special was the presence of the owner, who was not only visibly helping her staff but also warmly engaging with every table. She attended to our needs with such genuine care, answering questions about the menu and making us feel like treasured guests. It’s rare to see such dedication and passion, and it elevated the experience to something truly unforgettable. While it’s bittersweet to know Cassava is closing temporarily, I’m counting the days until it reopens. This was our last hurrah for this restaurant. We were disappointed that they were out of the faberge egg starter but the smoked sturgeon and the crispy zrazi were excellent. The chicory salad was quite refreshing. The stroganoff had delicious mushrooms and noodles but the sauce was a little bland. The duck had great flavors but was on the dry side. the rice served with the duck was great. the donuts with caramel sauce are to die for good. And we will certainly miss the horseradish vodka. Our server was nice enough to let us try the vodka with pickle juice as she preferred. It was worthy. I am very sorry to see this place close. It has been a great addition to Noe valley.

Vico Cavone offers an authentic Neapolitan dining experience, the only one of its kind in San Francisco. With each visit, guests are transported to the warm city streets of Napoli. Our menu features traditional Neapolitan home-cooked “street” dishes inspired by family recipes and using house-made pasta, as well as an interesting selection of imported and domestic beer, a large wine selection and unique craft cocktails. Located in the diverse and vibrant Castro District, Vico Cavone is a comfortable everyday hangout for our LGBTQ family and its allies. Our mission is to offer the warmth, the hospitality and the comfort of a local Neapolitan establishment, and to run our business with honesty, compassion and a commitment to the community. That was my first time there for dinner, have been there for lunch and brunch. It was fabulous. I went for the oysters which were great and the rest of the meal was also great.
