Chef Tim Love’s flagship restaurant, Lonesome Dove Western Bistro first opened in 2000, in Fort Worth’s Historic Stockyards District, and quickly became the city’s premiere dining establishment. Love has designed a menu influenced by all of the ingredients and cultures that have been a part of the West since the first adventure began on the Goodnight-Loving and Chisholm Trails — with an added level of modern sophistication. Love’s food at Lonesome Dove reflects his famously unique “Urban Western” cuisine, celebrating his creative uses of bold flavors and wild game, with an inventive selection of steaks and seafood to dishes such as Wagyu Tomahawk, Kangaroo Carpaccio, Rocky Mountain Elk Ribeye, Wild Boar Ribs, and Rabbit & Rattlesnake Sausage. Experience was horrible. This restaurant typically on point but on this night misses on food, huge miss on service, couldn’t get drink refills, ordered drinks that never came. Worst service ever here. Everything from the front door to paying the check was bad. So non-typical for LD and they must get it corrected or will lose their luster.

Everything was amazing. The only critique I have was the margarita spicy was maybe the worst marg I’ve had for such a fine restaurant. But everything else was amazing: oysters, wild boar ribs, sliders and waygu beef special was worth the splurge!

Server and waitstaff were very kind. Unfortunately, we ordered the tomahawk and it came out cold and the cut of meat was rather fatty. I’ve had it in the past and it was incredible so needless to say we were very disappointed.

Beautiful restaurant with excellent staff and service. However, the food quality was inconsistent across our meal. Some dishes were excellent, some were just ok. Overall, we very much enjoyed our dining experience and will return to try other dishes.

Food was amazing! Price matched the quality. New Year’s Eve so it was busy so service was a little slow but with the crowd and all I think they did very well. Numerous staff members checked on us a few times to make sure everything was great. Will recommend this place to others and definitely be back.

Went on NYE for dinner, decided on the set menu that allowed some choices. The appetizer was great on taste, but the quail was not visable. Asked about the missing quail. Told it was pureed into the dish. Could have been, but quail wasn't visible. Dish was still exceptional on taste. Ordered the wagyu tomahawk steak for entree. Ordered medium rare, but was rare. The waiter ask the chef about the steak, and told us the chef said that is the way he cooked medium rare. The waiter even said it looked rare to him. Took away from the perfect meal, but overall the meal and experience was very good. The dessert was exceptional, an explosion of flavors on you palate.
