   My husband and I ordered meals we had had and liked before. This time neither of our meals tasted the same, not even good, to be honest. We hope that was a fluke, because we like Louie’s Wine Dive.

   Dined on a Sunday afternoon. We had a party of 6. The server was very attentive and the pace was just right. We started off with the beignet and cheese curds. Both were excellent. Rum butter dipping sauce for the beignet was delish. The squeaky cheese were fried in a light batter which is how I like it. Had the eggs Benedict which was great. Also try the house rose wine.

   Recent dining experiences here have been very hit or miss. Tonight was a miss. Our server forgot my drink and had to be reminded more than once. The food was ok but not up to the usual standard. We asked that the dessert be split between our two bills and he ended up splitting my entree and gave me the dessert - which was not the price I thought I saw on the menu. We did not ask for it to be corrected as we had somewhere we needed to be and didn’t have time.

   Our waitress was very attentive and pleasant, I ordered the 4 pork gnocchi it was decent the guacamole was excellent a few more chips could be added loved the nice amount of the guacamole. My friend ordered the shrimp tacos she didn't care for the sauce but she said the spicy chicken sandwich with fries was delicious. I would like to see a few more assorted non alcoholic beverages. It's a nice place to go.

   Enjoyed the happy hour a lot. Brussels sprouts were good, the squeaky cheese was really good and the SCB sliders were bland and a cold bun. They definitely missed the boat on those. All in all perfect before going to the DSM Playhouse

   Food at Louie's is always good, and this was no exception. Unfortunately service has been spotty, and this wasn't a good night. Take this into consideration if you're on a time schedule.

    We made reservations in advance, then received a call half an hour before our time telling us they were closing because they only had one cook. Guess what, won’t be back.
