- SStephenWashington, D.C. Area •27 reviews5.0Dined on Apr 21, 2025We made a last minute reservation to dine at Brutto and enjoyed our meal very much. We have dined here numerous times before and the food is always good but the service has been hit or miss. On this occasion the attention to detail was impeccable and the staff were really friendly maybe because it was not very busy. It was clear that our server knew the menu very well. Our only concern was the team were almost too attentive - hovering around the table to remove finished plates as we were still eating. If I could make one suggestion it would be to gauge the table needs as we found the constant hovering and removal of plates almost before we finished our mouthful of food to be quite interrupting to our conversation.More infoBrutto - El SalvadorPrice: Moderate• Contemporary Asian• San Salvador•4.8
- RRichardHouston •6 reviews4.0Dined on Feb 15, 2025This was Valentines Evening with a reservation made three weeks prior. We arrived 10 minutes prior to our reservation time. We were told to sit in the hotel lobby as they were not ready to seat people. 10 minutes after our reservation time I made another inquiry and was then first to be seated at the table adjacent the kitchen door. When I asked for something more comfortable I was initially told no until I involved the manager. From this point the service level improvement with a delicious Amuse Bouche and a starter plate. Then downhill again with the waiter placing the wrong order for the entree. The manager corrected the order but we were put behind in the 2 hour limit service featured event. After the entree our tea service was forgotten and we went straight to desert. The tea was later taken to go. In speaking with the manager there was NO concession made by the restaurant to adjust the bill for the lacking experience only an apology. Bottom line, management was not prepared for this PLANNED event and the service suffered for it. The food quality was average at best for this service. We have been here before and had a more enjoyable time. Would definitely rethink another visit, very unfortunate!More infoLa GastrotecaPrice: Very Expensive• European• San Salvador•4.4
- VVictorNew York City •1 review5.0Dined on Feb 14, 2025During my visit to El Salvador from New York, I had the pleasure of dining at Azteca, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, the welcoming atmosphere and stylish yet authentic Mexican decor set the tone for a great evening. The space feels modern while still embracing the warmth and vibrancy of Mexican culture. I started with the Aguachile de Atún, which was incredibly fresh, well-balanced, and packed with just the right amount of spice. For my main course, I had the Medallones de Costilla de Res, which were perfectly cooked and full of rich, deep flavors. To accompany the meal, I ordered a bottle of red wine, and the bartender was extremely knowledgeable in helping me select the perfect pairing. As a New Yorker who enjoys a good cocktail, I can confidently say that Azteca’s cocktails are excellent—expertly crafted and truly impressive. One of the highlights of my visit was meeting the owners. The restaurant is family-run, with a talented chef bringing authentic flavors to the kitchen and two brothers ensuring everything runs smoothly in the front of the house. Their warmth, hospitality, and passion for the restaurant were evident, making the dining experience even more special. Azteca is a must-visit in San Salvador—whether you’re a local or just passing through. The combination of exceptional food, expertly made drinks, and a welcoming, family-driven atmosphere makes it a place I’ll definitely return to on my next trip. Highly recommend!More infoAzteca Mexican Cuisine & BarPrice: Moderate• Mexican• San Salvador•4.8
