Honoring Chef Miki Izumisawa, the female, award-winning sushi artist, originally trained by the one and only Nobu Matsuhisa. Miki was inspired by nature to create unique nigiri, cut rolls and hand rolls that blur the line between art and fusion sushi. Miki's recipes transform elements of the natural world with names such as Lava Flow, Moon and Sun, Feather in the Sky, and Prairie. Before her passing, Miki carefully coached outstanding female-only sushi chefs to execute her masterpieces. Her legacy continues in this romantic styled coastal, intimate sushi bar and cozy 18 window seats with views of Laguna's main beach. Owners Chris Olsen and Greg Washer are longtime locals who appreciate what Miki did for this community with an outstanding Japanese experience pushing the boundaries of tradition.     My husband, daughter and I had Christmas dinner at Mastro's. It was so crowded, I would have totally understood if the service or food was lacking... but to my surprise, everything was perfect! Service was amazing, food was just as wonderful as always. The restaurant was lively and festive. Once again, dining here was a great experience. Definitely pricey, but worth it for a special occasion!!

    This was our first time eating here. I had been at this location when it used to be Scott's Seafood. It has been renovated and the food is much better to my liking. It's all about the seafood, although they have beef too. We ordered 3 entrees... Sable fish in a spicy broth with thin soba noodles. The fish was a large portion and thick too. Scampi with parpadelle pasta. Wow, the shrimp were large and the pasta is one on my favorites with the sauces soaking all the flavors into the pasta. Cioppino was my favorite. It had prawns, salmon, white fish, calamari, clams, mussels all in the most favorable warm broth. We brought a bottle of champagne with us and they don't charge a corkage fee. Wow, can't wait to return again. The service was spot on. Our server was attentive and personable. Yum!

    Xmas Eve dinner was wonderful at Habana. We were greeted at the door with complimentary sparkling rose wine while we were checked in for our reservation. Our reservation was for comfortable outdoor seating with a festive ambiance for the season. The server was attentive and courteous offering recommendations and adjustments for some of our dietary restrictions. The seasonal cocktails were delicious and our food was too. Overall a great experience and we are planning to go back soon!

    The BEST part of our evening was Logan taking care of us! Like always we loved the meatball appetizer & bolognese to share. I loved my grilled branzino, my son loved the chicken parm & my daughter loved her short ribs. Only downside was the scallops were a little fishy. Overall a great experience!
