We waited at least 15 minutes to get serve after we seated down. Some of the skewers came in were cold. The server even dropped one of the skewer on the floor.

Incredible Rainy Friday night with Old Friends at Mokutanya. Shochu, Yakitori, Asian Pop, in private Japanese Sit Down rooms! Reminded us of late nights spent in Nishi-Azabu in Tokyo! Food was high quality with friendly and attentive Service. Will definitely be going back.

Fun and delicious! Love the no shoe/floor seating, glass partitions which give you and your party a private feel, but most of all the charcoal yakitori. Favs for us are the pork belly, corn, wagyu beef, and the bacon wrapped mochi. Staff was attentive and delightful. Open until 2am so perfect for those late night munchies.

Delicious food, especially the Wagyu beef w/ salt & Pepper and the seaweed salad, but many others as well. Excellent service helping you to navigate ordering some food in the beginning and then more later once you know which ones you especially like.

A new favorite spot! Mokutanya has a wide array of delicious yakitori with the ambience to match. However, it can get pricy here since you pay by the skewer - the quality, however, matches the price. For special occasions, this is a great place to have dinner!

Very friendly staff everyone was warm and upbeat. The skewers were cooked with the best char on them. Our favorites were the lobster, waygu pepper, Waygu spicy and waygu sweet. We also loved the tongue our server recommended, mochi bacon, and pork belly skewers were also delicious. I recommend adding a side of the house made hot sauce it was the best hot sauce I’ve ever had. Cool down the heat with a lychee soju. Creme brûlée for dessert was perfection. We will definitely be back.

Food was great, service was extremely slow. Had reservations at 7pm, didn’t get seated till 7:20 (it wasn’t crowded, lots of seats available but just super slow getting us seated…not sure why). Ordered food and there was a note of the menus that said they make everything fresh so allow for 15min ish to receive food. It took around 40minutes. We ordered a second round of skewered foods before we were finished so that we wouldn’t have to wait as long and they brought out one at a time (with about 10min in between) but didn’t bring out our bowl of rice with any of them! So it was really awkward eating one skewer (without rice) and then waiting 10-15min for a second skewer…the food was great but the service was incredibly slow and it made the experience and the food less than it should have been. We cancelled our last few skewers and bowls of rice after about another 30min because we had waited so long in between our pieces of skewers that we were just ready to go. They gave us a $20 Giftcard to come back which was nice but still the overall experience was not great. Everyone was nice when they did tend to us, and the food, again, great. But the service was slow even though the other tables seemed to be getting served like normal. Not sure what happened.
