Gabi is well on its way to being a top spot in Bethesda. We finally returned, having not been there since the renovation. We really love what they've done with the place. It was late on a Tuesday so not as crowded as it would be on a weekend. So it was not as noisy as we remembered. But the lower volume might also be from the updated decor - high ceilings and lots of heavy drapes - which also give a more luxe impression. The food was excellent. We had deviled eggs with whitefish caviar, scallops St. Jacques, chevre croquette, and trout almondine. All beautiful presentations and very tasty. And you must get the fresh baguette, of course. Service was well-timed except for an initial longish wait for our cocktails. A particularly nice touch: for wines by the glass, our server brought the original bottle and poured at the the table.

Newly renovated restaurant is a real gem. Feels very open, spacious and friendly. My wife and I had lunch, a couple of glasses of wine and totally enjoyed everything. The staff is attentive and pleasant.

I used to love this restaurant. It has now become too expensive. I’ve never heard of charging $16 for onion soup with a lot less cheese and the Caesar salad $16. There is also an additional surcharge which is OK but I was a little upset when I asked the waiter for another loaf of bread and I also asked to server I was willing to pay for it. They completely ignored me. I will miss this place, but I won’t go back.

Our server was great. I’m not sure what I think of the new redo of the restaurant, but the food was still good.

It was our first time visiting since the renovation. They did a wonderful job. It's fresh and feels European. The cheeseburger was outstanding as well as the service. Prices are reasonable for the venue. We will be returning soon!

First time back since the reopening. Interior looks similar, however the organization of the interior with the tables are better aligned. Food is tasted good. I enjoyed meeting my friend at the restaurant.

I loved the newly renovated restaurant. The only downside was the French onion soup was over salted. But everything else was delish and I will definitely be coming back ❤️

Frisée salad was bland. No zip to it at all. Steak frites were good. Profiteroles were great. Service was VERY slow. Seated in the bar at hightop table which was too tall to sit comfortably. Feet dangling. And table too high to cut steak comfortably. Needs some refining but fun atmosphere.
