   This restaurant is outstanding. Michael Psilakis is a celebrity chef who knows how to cook, and who treats his customers right. This is my second trip to the restaurant, once with three others and once with someone else. Everyone was extremely satisfied with the food which is, of course, the most important thing. Add to that a nice room and courteous and attentive staff and you get an excellent restaurant without having to go broke. Mr. Psilakis was there yesterday because his manager was unavailable, I think because the manager was in a car accident. He was extremely personable and attentive with none of the arrogance that you might expect after watching celebrity chef shows on TV. I have eaten at many restaurants around the country with nationally-known chefs (from Susan Spicer to Jeff Smedstad to Peter X. Kelly to Jean Georges to Daniel Boulud) and MP Taverna is worthy of your attention. PS - The fact that Mr. Psilakis was in house WAS NOT the explanation for why the staff was so attentive. We had the same good experience a few months ago when we came for lunch and he was not there.

   I love MP Taverna. It’s a neighborhood gem. My favorites are their chopped salad and grilled Bronzino. And many other dishes are great too Try the smashed fries. They’re like no others!! Wait staff is always attentive. Chef Michael and owner passes by to make sure you’re a satisfied customer.
