We have been going to Garfish for many years now and have to say that we have always found the dishes to be exceptional. However, today (March 2025), we were a little disappointed with the quality of two dishes. The salt & pepper squid was pretty good but the old version was tastier (no batter, a little fresh chilli & harissa on the side). We then had the fish & chips, hake was used which was fine but quite large fillets and the chips were a little soft. I believe previously, flathead was used and the batter was super light and crunchy and the chips were always a highlight...super crunchy also. The sashimi was excellent.

Always good food. Wonderful service. Make sure to book, we rarely were able to dine when just doing a walk in.

Great breakfast at Grounds of the City. Always a solid and central place to meet with friends for great food and ambiance.

Lovely quite authentic food and experience. Fun and tasty. Highly recommended if you want something different from an ordinary Aussie dining style.
