Set in 22 acres of stunning parkland Paris House is located on the Duke of Bedford's Estate in Woburn. Paris House blends modern culinary techniques with traditional foods to create a 6 course tasting menu. Paris House was originally built in 1878 in Paris. At the end of the 19th Century the timber framed building was dismantled and shipped piece by piece to its current home in the stunning grounds of Woburn Park. In January 2014 Paris House was bought by the businesses’ award winning Executive Chef Phil Fanning. Five minutes from the bustling centre of Harpenden on the one hand and Junction 9 of the M1 on the other, the pub has a lovely country setting, surrounded by a large leafy garden and terrace.The bar is warm and cosy, with old parquet and low beams hung with antique copper jugs, while the dining room is light & fresh, its French windows opening onto a sunny terrace.     The Sunday dinner menu at carriages was perfect for a special occasion, the starter of asparagus with smoked salmon followed by roast beef with all the trimmings and tiramisu for pudding was excellent, staff were lovely and the added gesture of limoncello shot afterwards rounded off the meal.

    We are rapidly running out of superlatives to describe this amazing restaurant. We had an excellent meal yesterday; husband had Lamb Shoulder and Sticky Date Pudding, while I, a vegetarian, had the new dish on their menu, Chickpea Hotpot, and Pineapple Carpaccio; this latter combination was on their set menu and excellent value for money. We shared a delightful carafe of Fleurie and two impeccable coffees completed our meal. We are already looking forward to next Sunday’s lunch!

    Brandon was extremely welcoming and obviously knows his trade. We look forward to coming back and meeting his wife Lucy. Food and service were great, it was a quiet night, but that's sometimes a nice thing. We really hope they make a go of it because the area is starved of decent places to eat.

    I only discovered this restaurant the night before we visited on Friday 22 November. The weather was very cold but the online images and reviews were very warm! Our overall experience was well worth the 35 mile round trip! From start to finish everything was exceptional! Even the background music was to our taste and at a perfect level. We will definitely be returning and thoroughly recommend this local gem.
