Quality, freshness, simplicity and healthiness are hard to beat in this crappy economy but Shinsengumi Shabu delivers like a Shohei Grand Slam!! Tonight my dude bros Cody and Micah handled the hungry crowd with gusto and bravado…….but kind of missed my ATF servers Riley and Kendall……oh well!! Seniors like me get a discount and the Sapporo draft is hard to pass up…….life is good as long as you’re still ticking and there’s this joint to celebrate!!More infoShin-Sen-Gumi Shabu-ShabuPrice: Expensive• Japanese• Hawthorne / Gardena•4.9
- RRosyLos Angeles •1 review5.0Dined on Dec 13, 2024I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and when we first walking into the building it was really cool and nice getting to look at the cars, the little shop, and cafe. I also now see why the wait to land a reservation here is pretty long because walking in, it did not feel packed or too chaotic. I’m a very anxious person and get uncomfortable whenever I’m at a setting where there’s a lot of people so this was extremely nice for me. Now, for the restaurant, I’m a pretty picky eater so not much stood out to me on the menu other than the classic 917 burger which happened to be delicious along with the side of fries that it came with. The bill for me and my partner didn’t come out to a lot or what I was expecting but I mean we did only have the burgers and no alcoholic drinks. Overall really nice and calm place, I felt comfortable and like I could talk to my boyfriend freely and admire the cars together. The service was also really good! I loved everything and my boyfriend enjoyed it a lot as well.More infoPorsche Experience Center’s Restaurant 917Price: Expensive• American• Torrance / Carson•4.8

Discover Gardena
Where the culture is rich, it can be said that the flavor usually follows. This is the case for Gardena, Los Angeles, a neighborhood that began as a small farming community tended to by Japanese immigrants . Now, Gardena is known for its strip mall dives, ginormous markets, and authentic culinary ventures rooted in the Japanese culture. Succulent sushi is just around the corner, prepped with fresh fish and perfectly cooked rice with a bowl of miso on the side. Foodies will hint that Gardena is somewhat of an "underground" scene in the culinary world, but their noodle shops (ramen, udon, or soba-- your pick) are the best in town. Depending on your mood, you can finish off your authentic meal with a sweet boba tea, or a glass of sake.
