The BEACON Butcher Bar
Price: Expensive•Contemporary Italian•4.8(635)The Beacon Butcher Bar is a labor of love from Tina Houston, owner of Reid’s Café & Catering Co., established here in the High Country since 1999. The Beacon is located in the heart of Boone, NC adjacent to the iconic Water Wheel. Just as we value beautiful ingredients in our catering, The Beacon adheres to a similar message.
In the kitchen, we value the fashion from scratch details as small as the aiolis and dressings we use, to the housemade desserts and pastries, cured and smoked meats, and naturally fermented pickles. Behind the bar, we strive for innovation and discovery from our unique and inspiring cocktails. We work within the seasons of the Blue Ridge to present a deliberate and thoughtful menu. We love the intentional, the specific, the well-cared-for.
Respectively, our market offers a unique selection of local goods and treats. From our featured cloister honey to housemade single origin chocolates, we present the craft and exceptionality of local, artisanal talent.Basil's

- DDebraRaleigh / Durham / Chapel Hill •5 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoThis was our first experience at The Gamekeeper and it was wonderful. We were immediately welcomed and every question we had was answered. The menu was unique and the food had amazing flavors. It was a little noisy but didn’t deter us from having a good time. It is a must if you’re in the area. We will definitely be back.More infoThe GamekeeperPrice: Very Expensive• American• Boone•4.9

- LlauraAsheville / Western North Carolina •6 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoThis was our first experience at the Beacon and it did not disappoint. We had lamb kebabs and buffalo meatballs for an appetizer. They were delicious, but would have really appreciated the server letting us know that the metal skewers were hot before we touch them. We also had fillet, lamb chops and Alaskan trout, and it was fabulous. We had a wonderful table and we had live acoustic guitar, but we were easily able to talk and it wasn’t too loud – it was just right. Wonderful time great service. Would highly recommend.More infoThe BEACON Butcher BarPrice: Expensive• Contemporary Italian• Boone•4.8
