- RRobertSeattle / Eastern Washington •5 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWhat an incredible and unusual spot in Greenwood! A real gem. From even before we arrived, the staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Even though we arrived late due to misreading the time of our reservation on my calendar, the staff went out of their way to make sure we were still able to be seated. Since this was our first visit to Sophon we needed some guidance with how and what to order. The menu not likely to be familiar to most diners since Cambodian cuisine is not very well represented in the Seattle area. Our waitress was fabulous. She explained everything we needed to know: how much we should order and what each menu item was like so we could figure what we wanted to order. Our food and drinks arrived quickly and were well spaced. We enjoyed everything we ordered despite this being a new cuisine to our palates. Each dish was a work of beauty. We look forward to returning to try other dishes to expand our culinary horizons. The restaurant space itself is in a relatively small vintage building with large windows looking out onto this interesting and active section of Greenwood Ave N. Once inside, the space is arranged in a way to make it feel spacious, private, somewhat elegant while the monochromatic wall murals bring diners to the temples of Angor Wat and beyond. It would be a mistake not to mention the large , beautiful, and active bar which is a central part of Sophon. On our next visit we might try sitting at the bar in order have a different Cambodian experience. Overall, Sophon deserves all of its accolades and 5 star reviews. Well worth a sojourn to Greenwood to get a taste of Cambodia.More infoSophonPrice: Expensive• Cambodian• Phinney Ridge•4.7
