Excellent food and service. Small place but worth the visit.

The best elegant restaurant in San Benito/El Salvador. The team is outstanding and very friendly. Food is out of this world. Of course, every time we come to El Salvador, Monarca is our home away from home. The waiter Ronald is very professional and we always are happy to see him.

El Xolo, located within the Museum of Anthropology in San Salvador, offers a unique dining experience that blends exceptional Latin American flavors with a setting steeped in tradition. The ambiance is thoughtfully curated, with decor that reflects the region’s heritage, making it the perfect spot for those seeking not only a meal but an immersive cultural experience. The menu at El Xolo features a variety of small plates, each showcasing the diversity and depth of Latin American cuisine. Though the portions are modest, the quality of the ingredients and the complexity of the flavors are undeniable. Every dish bursts with freshness, from perfectly grilled meats to vibrant ceviches and creative twists on classic Latin American comfort foods. The cocktails are another highlight, well-crafted and reasonably priced for the caliber of the drinks. They provide a great complement to the food, with many options highlighting local spirits and flavors. However, one downside is the steep price for water—at $7 for a 750ml bottle, it feels a bit excessive, especially given the otherwise reasonable pricing of food and drinks. It's a minor inconvenience in an otherwise stellar dining experience. Overall, El Xolo is a must-visit for food lovers, offering a memorable fusion of history, culture, and exquisite cuisine in one beautiful, traditional setting.

Been there twice and every time the experience was 100% . I had a little translation issue and ended up ordering the wrong thing, but it was still delicious A+ to everyone who works there.

Able to reserve a table online, food & drink was amazing and so fresh, and the service was great.
