- CChristopherNorfolk/Suffolk •1 review4.0Dined 7 days agoWe are 'occasional regulars' at the Kings Head. We don't eat out often, but when we arrange the meal it is always there. The food is very good, the service invariably excellent, the set meals great value. On this occasion, a family lunch for three, two had the two course set meal (mussels/pork chops and tomato soup/sea bass fillet) and one had mussels to start & the steak burger from the a la carte menu. We all had coffee afterwards as we had no room for dessert. The only one of the six courses to slightly disappoint was the burger (with bacon at extra cost) which I didn't feel represented good value & a rather strong sauce within the dish wasn't particularly pleasant. Otherwise the food was excellent & extremely well priced, given the quality. The service was as good as ever. We didnt need to ask for a jug of water, it was immediately offered, and, other than a pint of Guinness from the bar, that is all we drank other than coffee. The Guinness was expensive, as was the coffee, but both were good. Having asked for a table in the annexe, which is usually quiet, we were unfortunately joined by a table of, at least, six people, so the relatively small room became extremely noisy, which was unfortunate. The total bill was mid £90s, including the, well deserved, tip. We thoroughly enjoy our visits to this pub restaurant & regularly recommend it to others. It was our daughter's first visit & she fully intends to return with her own family in the near future. We hope this venue continues to thrive & are sure it will.More infoKings Head, ColtishallPrice: Expensive• Gastro Pub• Coltishall•4.8
