- JJonMaine •1 review5.0Dined on Nov 10, 2024The Reading Room is classic white linen high class dining at its best!! Menu, food, service & ambience all first rate! Our server was very professional (can’t recall her name) & very menu knowledgeable - only issue was that the noise level made it difficult to have a good conversation! We’ve been there many times over the years & it is always the highlight of our visits to Bar Harbor!!More infoReading Room Restaurant at The Bar Harbor InnPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Bar Harbor•4.7

- DDeniseMaine •1 review5.0Dined on Oct 24, 2024It took a month to get in and it was worth it. I had frequented the pond house when I was young (35 yrs ago) and I had been wanting to get back. It was as good as I remember. Staff got us in earlier than our reservation time, waitstaff were friendly and welcoming and the popovers and jam are the best I’ve had! Definitely worth the visit/experience.More infoJordan Pond HousePrice: Expensive• American• Bar Harbor•4.1
Discover Hancock, Maine
Reaching into Frenchman Bay across from famous Bar Harbor, Hancock offers a dining scene that takes advantage of its location on the Atlantic Ocean. Fresh seafood dishes, like New England clam chowder and broiled scrod, feature prominently on restaurant menus. Boiled lobster, a buttery lobster roll, or a bowl of lobster chowder all provide a distinctive taste of Maine cuisine. For an international flavor and something spicy, head to a local Jamaican or Thai restaurant. Pizzerias and pubs are available for those looking for a quick bite to eat, and you can bite into one of Maine's red snapper hot dogs for something unique to the area. For dessert, share a blueberry pie, one of Maine's favorite sweet treats.
