Mackinaw City Restaurants

We had the scallops and they were delicious, as was our friend’s steak. Paul was our server and he was spot on. Really enjoyed our evening.

Beautiful space and location. Great atmosphere and food was good. Great place to see the sunset.

My first time dining experience at The Straits Restaurant was wonderful! The food, décor & ambiance is elegant, yet fun & unique. As I mentioned to our waiter, concierge & manager, “The Straits is showy, but fun & different. Never a dull time.”

Everything is first rate including the well prepared food options, the professional wait staff, the lovely room and that fantastic view through those gigantic plate glass windows onto the state park marina and the harbor and lake beyond. We have visited the Island House Hotel several times over the years and have always had only the best of dining experiences at the 1852 Grill Room.

Great ribs and brisket as were the accompanying beans and cornbread. Server was very good - appropriately attentive and personable. We ate on the outside patio. No island scenery to speak of, but it was just fine if you’re in the mood for BBQ.
