- KKaraPhiladelphia County •4 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoNicest hotel restaurant I’ve ever seen! Food was great, bar drinks were great, service was great, price is a little higher than standard for the area but that’s to be expected at a hotel. We were going to a Royal’s game across the street, so this was the perfect way to start off our night!More infoCheers Bistro at the DoubleTreePrice: Moderate• American• Reading•4.5
- KKarenPhiladelphia County •8 reviews4.0Dined 2 days agoWe have eaten here many times. Service was excellent I have food issues now so I can’t eat any tomato dishes or anything with alcohol which really restricts me The only thing I could order was a pick my own. That ok but I ordered pasta with garlic Olive oil and shrimp The dish was tasteless No garlic to be found or tasted at all. There were a few grains of something which I guess was their version of garlic So I brought it home and will grill up some garlic and add some veggies as I did eat the shrimp after taking the tails off. I lot of restaurants serve shrimp with tails on Like I really want to get my hand messed up getting the tails off. Needless to say I was very disappointed My husband had blackened salmon which came with small chunks of salmon Husband was very disappointed alsoMore infoVincenzo’s RistorantePrice: Expensive• Italian• Pottstown•4.7
- BBobVIPPhiladelphia County •7 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoAlways excellent both in service and food selection. This time our table had calamari, ceviche, oysters and sushi for appetizers and everything was delicious. Entrees included fish & chips, lobster roll, dragon balls and crab cakes (GF) and once again fabulous. Highly recommend.More infoGo Fish Seafood And Sushi BarPrice: Moderate• Sushi• Reading•4.9

- CColleenPhiladelphia County •1 review5.0Dined on Mar 21, 2025This was our first time at Mimmo's. Our server, Ana, was outstanding! Very helpful with suggestions for cocktails, appetizers, entrees and desserts. She made us feel welcomed, let us enjoy the entire meal by checking in and keeping things moving while not rushing us. The food was delicious - hot, fresh, and tasty! The cocktail was delightful. We brought the desserts home because there was sooo much food. The staff was attentive to remove dishes and refill drinks. The hostess was accommodating and checked with us again as we left to make sure we were happy. We'll be back!More infoMimmo's RestaurantPrice: Moderate• Italian• Reading•4.9

12 of Philadelphia’s outstanding spots for celebrating special occasions
Maybe you got engaged on the steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art or just picked up the keys to your first rowhouse. It could be that your kid is (finally) toilet trained, or that your noisy neighbor moved away. Sometimes, simply surviving another Tuesday can be an occasion to celebrate over a restaurant meal. It doesn’t have to be fancy. What makes an occasion special isn’t an arbitrary date on the calendar—it’s the decision to celebrate. Luckily, Philadelphia bursts with places where the food and atmosphere lend themselves to living it up. Grab dinner and a jazz show at a swinging North Broad Street faithful. Opt for a quieter night at a critically acclaimed, plant-based gem in Midtown Village. Or splurge on a swanky steakhouse that presides over a corner of Rittenhouse Park. Whether you’re after an intimate spot for an anniversary date or a convivial atmosphere for a boisterous reunion, Philadelphia has you covered with these 12 celebration-worthy restaurants.
