Soup was good, scallops were fabulous, especially the sauces. For the main course, I had the crab cake meal. Best crab cake ever, almost no breading and all crab! Discover Portsmouth
Portsmouth has a sailing history that outdates the U.S. itself. Naturally, it has gathered its fair share of international tastes over the centuries. From fresh Indian chapatis and curries to home-style Bangladeshi pulao and classic American biscuits, there's a lot to discover along the region's waterfronts. Hearty French, Mexican and Italian meals regularly cross paths with Southern-style brews, and there are plenty of options when it comes to dining style. Portsmouth's Olde Towne is home to one of the nation's biggest collections of classy historical residential architecture. You, however, can keep it casual at your choice of European-inspired bistros and cafes or casual bars and grills. Several spots along the Elizabeth River host live music, so you can expose your ears to something new while you expand your taste horizons.
