About this restaurant

Inspired by the market, Chef César Murillo utilizes exceptional ingredients at the height of their season. His tasting menu reflects the Arts & Crafts approach of the dining room - complex layers of subtle craft beneath a simple decorative style.

We offer a four-course tasting menu with optional wine pairings. The menu is not á la carte, however, it provides options for each of the courses.

North Pond is open for dinner Thursday through Sunday beginning at 5:30pm.
Sunday Brunch begins at 10:30am and is three-course prix fixe.

We do not offer valet parking.
Tables in the front room or patio, overlooking the pond, are seated first come, first serve. We do not hold tables.
All tables for more than 4 people are seated in our main dining room.
We accept reservations for a maximum of 8 people at one table.
A cancellation charge of $25 per person is applied to all same day cancellations.

Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: Cesar Murillo

From the OpenTable editors: Chef César Murillo’s seasonal tasting menus are just as stunning as the lush Lincoln Park setting of this beloved restaurant. An alum of Grace, Murillo combines classical technique with hyperlocal ingredients—including fresh produce from the restaurant’s rooftop garden—in elegant dishes that could include a Cornish hen with summer squash and charred cherries. Snag a seat by one of the windows in the Arts and Crafts-style dining room for the best garden and skyline views.

We ate here to celebrate getting engaged and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel special, they brought us champagne and special menus and an extra dessert and it was just magical. The pappardelle and Wagyu were life changing, I was so impressed by the flavors and the creativity and the whole experience was everything you want out of fine dining. Our server Liz was AMAZING and she went above and beyond, she was so excited for us and so passionate about the restaurant and just made the whole day brighter. Shoutout to the bartender Kat for the best espresso martini my fiancé has ever had! I wanted to find a place that would be sophisticated and romantic and delicious and North Pond was the perfect choice, thank you to the staff and chefs for such an incredible experience.

We had the best time celebrating my partner’s birthday here. We even had personalized menus wishing him a happy birthday! Each course was tailored to us and spaced out perfectly. It was truly the best meal either of us have ever had. Extra thanks to our server and the other staff, you were incredibly kind and made the experience that much better. We can’t wait to come back!

We had the pleasure of dining at North Pond on Friday, April 18th at 7:30 PM to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday, and it was truly a memorable evening from start to finish. Set against the peaceful backdrop of Lincoln Park, with the pond and skyline quietly glowing in the distance, the restaurant feels like a hidden gem in the middle of the city. The ambiance was elegant without being stuffy—warm, intimate, and just right for a special occasion. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Every member of the staff made us feel welcome and cared for, like we were regulars—even though it was our first visit. The team struck that perfect balance between attentive and relaxed, letting the evening flow at our pace. I started with one of their signature cocktails, the “Forget Me Not,” and it absolutely lived up to its name—beautifully balanced and a perfect start to the night. The food throughout the evening was thoughtful, seasonal, and full of subtle, creative touches that really elevated the experience. What made the night especially personal were the little surprises. Toward the end of our meal, the chef sent out a specially curated tea blend for my girlfriend—thoughtfully enclosed in a tin for her to take home, which added such a sweet and lasting touch. And then came the birthday plate: a delicately plated dessert finished with a signature cookie that the chef had recreated from something he used to enjoy as a child. It felt like being let in on a memory, and it was a beautiful way to close the evening. As a couple in our late 30s/early 40s who’ve shared a lot of dinners together, this one stands out. North Pond gave us not just a meal, but an experience—one that was personal, meaningful, and perfectly tailored to the moment. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate.
