Table for 4. Had halibut, osso buco., oysters, veloute, panna cota and more. All outstanding with wine and cocktails... Just spent 3 days in NYC and this topped them all. Really outstanding food and service.. Cocktails by fireplace hard to beat.. Baby it's cold outside, but not at Ocean...

We booked the Truffle Dinner “ Experience” and that is was. It was right after Prelude and it was quiet and truly romantic! We’ve never had a bad meal here, but this was on another level. The appetizer was grilled octopus sliced carpaccio style with drizzled balsamic and herbs with a truffle/olive tapenade the kicker was melon! I know. But is was fresh and flavorful. A poached oyster dish was served with a butter herb linguine topped with black truffle that could transport you to New Orleans in an instant. We loved it. The main was a filet, with purple asparagus and of course black truffle, which was a tender and perfectly prepared delight. My husband enjoyed the wine pairing, which was done so thoughtfully for each course it enhanced the flavors of each dish. I enjoyed a custom prepared cocktail served up, in just the right glass. Dessert was delicious chocolate truffles house made. Our compliments to the hosts, manager and definitely the chef, who made our date night truly special. Can you do this once a month? :)

The Ocean Restaurant unfortunately didn’t live up to its reputation … still just offers a fixed price dinner which is fine, but unfortunately ran out of some selections, service was not good, felt ignored and left very disappointed - such a shame.

Thanksgiving dinner was delicious and beautifully presented. Nice choices on the menu. We were warmly greeted by the concierge on a blustery, rainy afternoon and then welcomed by the friendly (and busy!) bartender and shown to our table. Olivia, our server, could not be more professional and charming. For the last few years we have had Thanksgiving dinners at White Barn Inn but wanted to change things up this year and we are so glad we did - what a top-notch experience.

We were quite disappointed that for an expensive , white table cloth dinner there is no dress code. The people next to us wore a baseball cap and sweatshirt- the manager said “there is no dress code” - at this time of year we are glad to have business”. We dine out frequently but will not be back.
