All very bland, salmon had zero seasoning and was served with flavourless lentils. Steak was overcooked, we told our server who did nothing about it. We paid top money for sub standard food.

Coctails good, but have been stronger in the past, portion sizes have severely decreased. Now you only get a slice of beef Wellington. Food taste, quality & flavor delicious.

Good Afternoon, Thank you so much for your review. Would you mind sending me a private messages so I can looking into your dining experience? We have changed the presentation of Beef Wellington to the original recipe at the restaurant's conception in 1972 which was based on the original 1800's recipe. Also the portion size is different based on the experience selected. The Three Course Prix Fixed vs. the Severn Course Chef's Tasting Menu. I look forward to hearing back from you. Best regards, Kevin

Engaged here in 90s - third time back- disappointed. Service rushed yet servers very attentive and friendly. Piano player gave room excellent atmosphere. Ordered an expensive bottle of wine- never shown bottle, it was opened with servers back to us, cork never presented, wine pored and bottle slapped on table. Escargot tasted like it was in dirty butterydish water, thin slivers of Bronzino over cooked, dry and burnt. Soufflé & creme brûlée delish. Sad to say, didnt live up to its hey-day

The ambiance and service were by far better than most restaurants you could compare to. The decorations throughout, the pianist playing in the background, the fireplaces roasting, everything was on point with ambiance. The servers were constantly available and quick with accommodating any request. The food serving size to start was miniscule, which other restaurants in the area serve larger amounts with similar or lower price points. The taste of the food did not feel elevated to merit the price of the meals, in my opinion. I was expecting more flavor from the food, especially the final course before dessert, which felt a bit bland. That's not to say it wasn't tasty, but it just didn't have the WOW factor. Also, the presentation of the food was a bit boring. The value came mostly from the decor with the fresh flowers everywhere and tabletop decorations, which didn't really fill the stomach but did appeal to the eyes. The seating arrangement felt a bit tight since you had to move the table to get in and out of your seat. The coat check at the entry was nice, but we didn't make use of it this time. Booking the reservations was simple, and you're seated right away upon arrival. Overall, it's a great spot to do a special occasion at, but not for a regular day meal.
