After a two-year closure, Original Joe's, San Francisco’s quintessential Italian-American dining destination, revitalized iconic Daly City institution Joe’s of Westlake, and reintroduced it into the community as Original Joe’s Westlake. An anchor of Daly City from 1956 to 2014, Original Joe’s Westlake underwent an extensive two-year renovation, complete with a front-to-back interior remodel, including the kitchen and all dining spaces, and an exterior and landscaping overhaul. Following the Original Joe’s tradition, Westlake continues to prepare unpretentious, old-school Italian-American fare in an open kitchen for all to see. The menu is carefully crafted to reflect a past-meets-present hybrid of what Joe’s of Westlake used to be and what Original Joe’s Westlake is today.

Boasting Sputnik lighting, terrazzo flooring and redwood accents throughout, Original Joe’s Westlake elicits mid-century America in the likes of Palm Springs, Beverly Hills and Las Vegas. The newly reimagined Cascade Room features show-stopping pimento orange banquettes, and offers a variety of options for large gatherings—from private rehearsal dinners and memorial receptions, to smaller non-private family dinners, class reunions and birthday celebrations. With beautiful custom sliding doors, the Cascade Room can be divided in half, creating two fully private event spaces, accommodating up to 50 guests each.

    I am a regular at this location and I must say it was not there best night tonight. I first mentioned in open table about celebrating my husband birthday which not sure what happened with that. I then walked back up to the front desk and told the two people at front desk at joes , a man and woman about having a little something for my husband for his birthday and I would pay. I even mentioned the reservations with open table and my request. Still nothing. A third time the waiter came around and we gave our desert orders and I decided to walk up to him and ask about my earlier request to order something special to again celebrate my husband. He looked at me like I was asking for the first time. He later shows up at what felt was his convenience and at that time my daughter walked off to bring a dessert with a candle and lit up and walk away. No birthday or anything. My daughter returned and said oh no did I miss it. I said we did not we did not even get to singing happy birthday. Not the best night. Disappointment for so much money.

    Always love going to Joe's; it's such an institution. I love sitting in the original part of the restaurant which is where we sat. We had a large group (9) and our server, Ponce, was attentive, cheerful, and professional.

    It was great, they also have a nice monkey bread cake (maybe I forgot the right name) but that was something they gave to us on our date and it was very good

    Been a customer here for over 50 years. Nott hensame owners but original Joes in SF knows their clients. They improved the ambiance at Westlake Joe's but the food remains the star. Burgers on the sourdough, stellar. Wish the fries were still steak cut though. Salads were yummy and ample in size. Just go and enjoy the Italian we grew up with in the SF Beach area.

    This place has been a family favorite for years. The raviolis are the closest to what my grandmother made. Service was excellent even though the place was packed. If you want authentic Italian this is for you. It’s old style cooking
