Open since 2002 Palmettos on the Bayou is a charming and elegant Acadian style restaurant serving classic Creole dishes highlighting fresh Louisiana ingredients.

Set on the tranquil Bayou Bonfouca near Old Town Slidell, our waterfront restaurant/event venue is known for its southern charm. Palmettos famous Brunch features live Jazz Saturday and Sunday. The 5,000sqf covered deck provides a dramatic outdoor setting at night for romantic dinners and a comfortable relaxed atmosphere during the day.

We are honored to have been named Best Brunch, Dining with a View, and Most Romantic by various local publications throughout the years.

We're located at 1901 Bayou Lane, next to Heritage Park.

    Always love going to Palmetto’s. The food is always great, service is wonderful, ambience is so nice. Love it. One of the nicer restaurants in Slidell.

    The selection and quality of the food far exceeds any buffet we have ever been to and we're not big on buffets. They have a omlet station, a meat carving station and my favorite, a banana foster station. Sitting on the deck feels like you are having an outdoor picnic with trees and nature all around you.

    The waitress Katie was very sweet and checked on us often to see if we needed anything. Also the duo of violin & guitar led to a very memorable evening. Food was delicious hot and right on time. Our party of 6 was very impressed with the service, food, & ambience. Ronald T

    Food was mediocre except for the omelette station, it was cooked fresh. Most food was not hot. It was pricey for the food quality. Love the space even though it was busy and loud. Expected for a Sunday. Jazz music was a bonus.

    First time dining, and lucked upon their Sunday’s Buffet, along with my husband, we had a nice experience. There was a great food selection; and I loved the beignets. We will be back.

    Next time I will request a table in the dock. I wish I could remember our waiters name so that I could request him again because he was amazing very attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. We went last night and I’ve already suggested Palmetos to two other couples. Definitely worth the 90 minute drive
