I am very particular about my ribeye steak and it was the best ribeye I ever had from a restaurant. Melt in your mouth, flavored incredibly well, and a whopping 14 ounces for only $39. Her mashed potatoes were also very flavorful and our French onion soup and escargot sides were excellent. Everything was served very hot. \n\nBig kudos to the chef !\n\nOur waiter was good, but was clearly stressed because he had too many tables. We overhead the wait staff say they were short at least one server. Our waiter was hustling all night, but clearly was very distracted and not as attentive as he should have been. However, I put that on management for being understaffed and thought our waiter was doing the best he could w/o enough support.\n\nI can clearly see why this is the best French restaurant in Pittsburgh and look forward to coming back before end of the year. My starter was the whipped brie which I really enjoyed and my husband had the escargot which he thoroughly enjoyed. My main was the tri-tip steak - it was quite tough and chewy which was disappointing, but the sauce was excellent. My husband enjoyed the calf's liver. The dessert was okay, but again, not exceptional. I had the berry tart and my husband had the creme brulee. Overall we had a lovely evening, but I was expecting a little higher standard for the food. The food was good and the waiter was nice, but when we arrived ,we were told that we have to hurry up because the kitchen is closing at 2 pm. When we booked the restaurant for 2 pm nothing was mentioned. The restaurant should not offer booking slots for 2 pm if their kitchen closes at that time.

Thank you for your review. My name is Frederic Rongier, proprietor of Paris 66 and I apologize for this behavior.
You are correct, the kitchen does not close at 2:00 pm. The last reservation is at 2:00 pm on Sundays. My kitchen staff stays until our last reservation has been served, not before.
I talked to my manager and what happened is that you arrived 5 minutes after 2:00 pm. We sent you a text message letting you know that your table was ready but you did not respond to let us know that you were going to be late. They were afraid that you forgot about your reservation and our kitchen staff was getting ready to leave.
I apologize again.
We are looking forward to having you again very soon for a much better authentic Parisian dining experience.

We really enjoyed our brunch at Pier 66. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant. The service was top notch. Expect to pay more than you normally might, but everything was freshly made. It's a great place for a special occasion brunch with family and friends.

I see that your party arrived at 7:05 pm and you left the restaurant at 8:55 pm which is under 2H which is fast. A party of 5 is usually 2:15H.

It was our first time at Paris 66 last night, and we all enjoyed our meals in the lovely enclosed back patio with heaters on a chilly April evening. The service was great, and I thought my duck leg was the star of the show. Our only minor complaint was that we wished there had been more pommes frites with the mussels we shared as an appetizer for four. Would definitely return.
