Market Place Kitchen and Bar is a traditional American restaurant, operating with a theme of preparing all cuisines with organic and sustainable ingredients. The restaurant has a decent wooden décor, constructed with 300-years old barn wood from Brook Field's farm. Market Place Kitchen and Bar has a full-service banquet with modern business facilities for corporate events and meetings. Alex Lowe, the executive chef, has prepared a healthy menu for guests in Market Place Kitchen and Bar. Surf and turf is the specialty meal here. It is prepared with pork belly meat braised in duck fat for four hours. It is served with apple marmalade, caramelized scallops and house made kale chips. The menu is taken from classic recipes, sourced locally and given a twist. The items will be familiar yet distinct. You will find presentation to be clean and simple. The restaurant is named after America’s most famous founding father, Benjamin Franklin. While he was pinnacle in America’s birth, he also became the first ambassador to France. While on trips to Paris, he would wine and dine with the best of them and when he returned, he would bring back the French culture, food and wine, and share it with our new nation. Dishes like Potato Lyonnaise and Crème Brulée were the first of his favorites he shared with America. The Benjamin reflects that bridged gap between the two countries’ cultures. The restaurant and bar is french-inspired, but uniquely American. It sits in Ridgefield's historic district in a 1875 house, but the interiors are modern, elegant and new. Chef prepares dishes like Mussels, Foie Gras, Shrimp Toast, Chicken, Halibut, Duck, and more.

    The food and service were outstanding! You can get lost in all of the wonderful offerings in their store. Such a great idea to eat in such a lovely ambiance. Our food was beautifully plated and delicious. We opted to eat half our servings in order to try some of their desserts! We were not disappointed! And we got our leftovers packed away to eat later. This was a beautiful experience from start to finish... We will be back soon!

    We had a great time and the food was once again delicious. Jessica was fantastic and we enjoyed our dinner. We have already talked about coming again to try other food. The cooks there know what they are doing! ❤️❤️ Loved the extra special touch of giving roses out at the end of dinner, that was so kind.

    We enjoyed a absolutely delicious meal, This Restaurant has an excellent Menu, an outstanding cocktail menu, and great ambiance. We went on a Thursday evening and had very good service, however from what I have heard you may need to allow extra time for service on Friday and Saturday nights when they are busy. I would say the food is worth any lack of fast service My advice is to immediately order a cocktail or glass of wine and an appetizer so if they are very busy when you order your meal you can sit back an enjoy your time there. We loved their choice of music and everyone was very friendly. We WILL go back.

    Wonderful experience overall, ambience, service, food all very good. A tad difficult to converse because of background noise, but not terribly so. Prices quite high, but in line with other restaurants of this caliber. Would definitely recommend.
