Arthurs Steakhouse started in 1948 by Arthurs Bates and his wife off of McKinney Avenue in the Dallas uptown District. It moved to the Gold Towers on Central Expressway and after decades, in 2001, it relocated to Addison where is thrives today. In 1983, after the success of La Calle Doce, Oscar and Laura Sanchez wanted to open another restaurant but they didn’t want to duplicate their previous success nor did they want to open just another Tex-Mex restaurant. Oscar wanted something that wasn’t found in Dallas, something that reminded him of home. Since both Oscar and Laura are from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon in Northern Mexico, they decided to open a restaurant that specialized in Comida Norteño (northern food) and Tex-Mex featuring dishes such as cabrito, mollejas, and asado de puerco. Today El Ranchito is known for it’s authentic Mexican food, freshly made tortillas and festive atmosphere where mariachis play daily. These elements – the food, the music and the friendly staff – have helped El Ranchito achieve it’s ultimate goal of creating an atmosphere where the customer feels as if they are back home in Monterrey.

    Had a wonderful Valentine’s Day celebration. The gift and rose on the table when we arrived was such a nice touch. The food was fabulous but the presentation made it so very special. The “smoke” coming from the shrimp cocktail and the “flaming” of the Baked Alaska at the table was so special. The food could not have been any better. Expense was more than expected but well worth the price.

    We Celebrated a birthday here last Friday night 2/7/25. Our Waiter was Alex. He was very attentive and warm. Pierce, the manager, even came by to check on us, recommended some wonderful wine. We also observed him checking with other tables. He was kind, accommodating, engaging and genuinely interested in making sure everyone was having a great experience. Stephanie was another server that made the night a success. The food was delicious, a 10/10. The presentation was impressive. The vibe is unique and elegant and the ambiance perfect. Would definitely recommend!!! Absolutely loved every thing about this place!
