Lovely relief from Winter's cold. We enjoyed our near-annual visit to the 1789 during restaurant week. The food, service and ambiance excellent. The fireplace adds to the charm of the dining area. All the food was well prepared and presented, but the Rockfish gets special mention because it is local. Valet service is available, but we were happy to find free parking a block away from the restaurant.

Really great classic Grench bistro lunch. We got French Onion soup, Caesar salad, escargot, country pate, curry scented mussels and salad nicoise. Also delicious French martinis, and wine by the glass. All excellent. Great service, cozy, charming as always. Bonus points for fireplace and triple bonus points for parking space right in front of the restaurant!

WE HAD THE RESTAURANT WEEK MENU. i WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO HAD THE AMISH CHICKEN, WHICH WAS GROSSLY OVERCOOKED, TOUGH AND CHEWY. I THINK THE OTHER MAIN COURSES WERE FINE. SERVICE WAS VERY GOOD AND SITTING NEAR THE FIREPLACE WAS WONDERFUL.
