- CClaudineVIPGreater Boston •5 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWe went for Valentine’s Day with another couple. We were all thrilled with the Brie special appetizer with the pears!! Please add this to the regular menu as it was outstanding. 2 of us had the lobster ravioli special and were blown away with how delicious it was. We both commented that they were far and away the best lobster raviolis we had ever had. The sauce was especially delicious and so different. My husband tried the steak special and loved that as well. The accompaniment vegetable which was a layered ‘something’ which he could not identify was apparently delicious. The last of us had the sole Milanese and this was also loved. As usual the staff was excellent as were the views of the water. Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience!More infoThe Mooring RestaurantPrice: Moderate• Seafood• Newport•4.7

The homemade caviar pasta pasta appetizer was outstanding. Everything we ordered was carefully prepared and very tasty. - MMichaelVIPGreater Boston •32 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoGreat restaurant for a romantic winter meal. The large fireplaces with roaring fires, dark colonial interior, and fantastic Beef Wellington and Duck made for a special Valentines meal. And the service was good and not rushed on such a busy night. One constructive recommendation. While your hostess were great, we felt much better dressed than they were. It gave a first impression we did not expect. Maybe they could benefit from work uniform ? Overall, thanks WHT. - SSandraGreater Boston •9 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoWe thoroughly enjoyed evening out. We were lucky enough to book our reservation for the Tuesday candlelight night experience. The ambience was really quite relaxing and beautiful. The illumination of all the candles against the windows overlooking the ocean was just divine. There were many wonderful choices for entrees on the menu, however, my husband and I each had the evening's dinner specials which were excellent. I had the pasta dinner special (linguine with lobster, shrimp and scallops in a light ginger cream sauce) and my husband had the short rib dinner with mashed potatoes and haricot verts (french green beans). The server was pleasant, friendly and informative. We will definitely return again.More infoThe Coast Guard HousePrice: Moderate• Seafood• Narragansett•4.7
- MMichaelGreater Boston •6 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 25, 2024Christmas Eve dinner. Festive, lively atmosphere without being too loud for easy conversation. Service was excellent, beginning with the accommodation of a late addition guest. Staff was there for every need and question yet never made us feel rushed—even though our meal went past closing. I expected great food and was not disappointed. Oysters were particularly good and French-pressed coffee always adds a great finishing touch. My teenagers had a great time and have a new appreciation for real food. Highly recommend.More infoHemenway'sPrice: Expensive• Seafood• Providence•4.9
