Best Restaurants for Quiet Conversation in Riverside

Band was amazing but it was over the top loud when restaurant was packed. French onion soup was not hot but rest of food….salad with crab cake and filet mignon sandwich was really good. Service started off great but then the wait staff disappeared; wanted coffee and dessert as well as get a meal to go but the kitchen closed without waiter asking if we wanted anything else…..too bad to end a nice night that way.

We went to George on Valentine's Day. It was not crowded -- it was an early dinner because we had show tickets. The dining area filled before we left. The restaurant is cozy on a cold night, and there was a lovely fireplace in the main room. It's not one of those high-ceiling noisy places -- it's really like one's own dining room where there is quiet conversation. Staff was especially attentive and professional. We started with a plate of fresh oysters.The specials were interesting, and it was hard to choose. We both had sole cooked in different ways. Delicious! The fresh broccoli spears were perfectly al dente. The dessert menu was large and tempting, but I had lemon sorbet since most restaurants do not offer it. I also had a lovely Sangiovese wine. The bar area was a bit more casual in atmosphere, but still a great "date night" destination. Plenty of parking.

Staff are very friendly and efficient. Great cocktail selections. Menu is diverse has many tasty choices. Will come back!

I am never disappointed by the service or the food at Lombardo’s. My only comment would be that the acoustics in the room are not great and it can be very loud and noisy.

Consistently great food, and am always great, friendly staff. Good is a Greenwich institution
