Best Date Night Restaurants in San Gabriel

Our server Mark is exceptional!! He quickly approached our table greeted us and brought chips and salsa. He took our order in a timely manner and brought our drinks. He is kind, respectful, and a valuable employee! Thank you Mark for taking care of our table especially having our 5 year old granddaughter! She said you are very nice and she wants us to take her back to El Toritos upon her next visit with us, her grandparents! She loves the kids meal especially the ice cream sundae! Kudos to Mark!!!!

Everything was good but the service. It was sprinkling outside and it started to come down harder. We asked our server if we go move inside. He didn’t seem to care much. When another server or hostess came by we asked her and we immediately got moved inside as it started to rain. Our server also forgot to input our bone marrow appetizer as that came in last. I had to remind another server or floor manager about the issue. Again our original server never bothered to check on us. We got moved to another section with another server. She also didn’t care much. I had to wave her down a couple times or even ask the food runner to ask. I understand Bestia is busy and chaotic. I work in the good industry as well. But if I’m paying for my food + your 4% I’m expecting a good service

One of the best steak dinners I have ever had. The grass fed Australian ribeye was of the best quality. And it was cooked perfectly. Lightly charred with a warm pink center. The mushroom medley was exceptional. And the cocktails were unique. Colorful and delicious. At $250 for two people, it was not an everyday meal. But well worth the splurge.

It was a busy Saturday evening and I was so glad I made a reservation through Open Table. We only had to wait about 5 minutes. The food was great and was served in a timely matter after we ordered. Our server was also very nice and efficient. He came y the table often to inquire if everything was ok. We had a great experience.

Shinsen Gumi is one of the best Japanese dining experiences in Los Angeles, if not California. They started in a little shop in Gardena and have grown a lot over the years. They have excellent food and I always walk away happy. Great for casual dining with friends. Some shops are louder than others. But this is by design. Japanese restaurants like this in Japan are loud, friendly places. You don't go there to quietly chat. Keep up the good work and the great food!
