Best Seasonal Restaurants in Shawnee

This was the first time my wife and I had been to J. Gilbert's and it was a wonderful experience. I had the Kansas City strip; it was juicy and very flavorful; one of the best steaks I've ever had. My wife had the crab cakes and loved them. Only one downside in the whole meal; the crab bisque soup was just too salty! I should have sent it back. The desserts were very tasty and presented so nicely. I had the chocolate fudge cake; it was soooo good! Service was impecable! We will definitely be back to J Gilbert's.

Service started out very rough. I had to mention it to her. Once I did that she did a much better job. Food was good and arrived quickly.

My ultimate test for a restaurant is if it randomly pops in my head weeks later as I relish the memory of the meal & experience. Wandering Vine at The Castle meets that test. I am still thinking about the savory bone-in pork chop with demi-glace sauce, the decadent chestnut mushrooms, and the perfectly intense cocoa of the layered chocolate cake. I'm not going to lie, a part of me anticipates huge disappointment for every sad attempt of pork chops or chocolate cake from any other restaurant here after until I can return. Congratulations to the chef, owner and staff for creating and sharing a truly remarkable dining experience at The Castle!

Everything was lovely, from the atmosphere to the service and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. We came here for an office holiday party and enjoyed ourselves immensely. It's a great place for a celebratory meal or a fancy date.

Another fantastic dining experience with my daughter at lunch today! Her salmon was incredible and my mussels were so very delicious! Also loved my St Germain spritz! Thank you, Cafe Provence!
