“Mi Vida” translates to “My Life.” However, in Mexico, “Mi Vida” means much more. “Mi Vida” is a term of endearment bestowed on close family and friends to signify love, care and importance. When one says, “Mi Vida,” they are telling someone special how much they mean to them. MI VIDA describes how we feel about our team and our guests. It is our expression of Mexican culture and cuisine as interpreted through the lens of Chef Roberto Santibañez. Our menu is rooted in the history and culinary tradition of Mexico while exploring the ever-changing boundaries of this vibrant and evolving cuisine.

Haikan is our second Sapporo Ramen shop in DC after Daikaya. Haikan means, “pipe works” in Japanese, an ode to Atlantic Plumbing Building where we are located. At Haikan, we focused on creating the taste of ramen from the showa period, the golden age of ramen in Japan. There are over 1000 ramen shops in the city of Sapporo alone, and we are excited to share a completely new line-up of traditional Sapporo style ramen in DC. In addition to ramen, we are serving a playful selection of Japanese-inspired kozara (small plates) to share, or to start with, or to make a whole meal of by picking a few of them. Haikan's bar serves a collection of Japanese-inspired cocktails, and a concentrated selection of Japanese sake, shochu, beer, whisky, and more.

One of the best restaurants in Washington DC. No wonder you need to make reservation week or two in advance. We had mussels, chicken, flatbread. All delicious! Manager Teddy was very accommodating.

The food was amazing! My husband and I shared the salmon dish which had a delightful spicy pineapple sauce over mashed sweet potato and a side of Brussel sprouts. Waiter was attentive and our water pitcher was filled several times before it was emptied. Music was a bit loud and the lights from the Capital One Arena were very distracting.

A friend and I had dinner at Nordstrom Market Place at Montgomery Mall (Bethesda, MD) on Saturday, 1/18/2025. The dinner was exceptional. From the Chef’s Selection menu, I chose the braised beef ragu served with cheese tortellini, and it was outstanding. I swear the tortellini tasted like it was made fresh just for me - it literally melted in my mouth. The braised beef was cooked to perfection. The ragu sauce, with chunks of tomato and spinach, was delicious. My friend had the tomato basil soup and a beautiful salad and said both were delicious. We had a 6 pm reservation but it wasn’t needed as the restaurant was not crowded. On a scale of 1-5 (5 belong difficult to converse with others at your table), I give this restaurant a 0.5 - the room was peacefully quiet. We had no problem conversing with each other and there was no background music coming through the speakers. Staff were attentive and pleasant. I highly recommend this cozy restaurant and plan to return very soon.
