Best Gastro Pubs in Steventon

First time I have been to the White Hart in many years, and I had forgotten just how special this place is. The building of course is totally unique in historical terms, and is beautifully presented, even in these mad health and safety days. The ambience is pure magic - warm and welcoming, non-intrusive but carefully chosen background music. Staff were all incredibly welcoming and once we were eating, didn't keep coming to ask "how is everything?" which really annoys me in some places. Food was 5* excellent - I am vegetarian and could not fault my Main. Two teenage kids had steak and they were very happy with theirs, which is quite unusual (either over or under done, but not here). My wife had the house G&T, and I had the house breads, both of which were amazing. Main complaint - no room for dessert! Keep it up, and we'll be back very soon!

Went on Valentine's Day, a top class place with top class service. Like fine dining but with bigger portions. Will be going back and taking the rest of the family with us.

A beautiful restaurant set back from the road in a beautiful setting. Staff are friendly and professional as well as attentive. The menu is varied are delicious for starters and mains, unfortunately for me I’m not keen on chocolate desserts and ice cream so dessert was not an option as in many restaurants. Why not a fruity dessert or an option with cream or custard. This was the only thing that disappointed me. A wonderful ambience and an enjoyable meal .

Very friendly welcome, lovely table, really particularly good roast and sticky toffee pudding, staff very engaged and keen we enjoyed it, would definitely recommend and will be back
