Tex-Mex cuisine began in the Rio Grande Valley before migrating up to San Antonio during the l860's where a group of women known as The Chili Queens' began to pop up in the city's plazas selling chili con carne with tamales, enchiladas, and chili verde. They incorporated cumin into their dishes favored by settlers from theCanary lslands, which still has a strong influence on Mexican food in Texas. Tex-Mex also loves beef, flour tortillas, yellow cheese, fajitas and more.Our inspiration comes from the many classic Tex-Mex restaurants including Sylvia's Enchilada Kitchen, Papasito's, Ninfa's, Blue Goose, Hugo's, Herrerra's Cafe, Chuy's, Valentina's Tex-Mex and many more.     We used to eat at the Cupertino location often, so this was a nice comfort meal. Plenty of meat and sides. I enjoyed that it didn't get too smoky while we grilled our meat; they changed grills three times. The hostess was rude and clearly not happy to be working, but it didn't detract from our meal. The rest of the staff kind and helpful. Overall, a great spot with plenty of easy parking.

    I went with my family and my adult children's significant others and had a wonderful time. Excellent food, service, drinks, and overall atmosphere. The brisket tacos were incredible! Highly recommend!

    Very good food and service overall at BJ's Restaurant in Southcenter Mall. Everyone liked what they ordered in my group and I heard no complaints regarding either the food, service or noise level. A few standouts from the food ordered include the New Orleans Jambalaya, a Gourmet Five Meat Pizza, and the Wedge Salad, as well as the non-alcoholic Berry Tasty drink.

    I'd rather you raise the prices on the menu then bring me a bill telling me to pay your kitchen staff. I know minimum wage is higher but it reflects on ownership and management more than anything.
