THE PORT HOUSEDUBLIN & LONDONOpened first in 2006 we realised we had something special in our little cave on South William Street in Dublin 2! Twelve months later, we opened another little cave in Temple Bar and our third in a cottage in Dundrum Town’s Centre’s Pembrook District. After three successful restaurants and seven years of hard work and saving our pocket money, we decided we were grown up enough to hit London in search of fame and fortune down the West End of Covent Garden, where we hope to get a small bit part alongside Jude Law! In 2019, we were delighted to announce that we opened our fifth location in Camden Street, Dublin 2. Which is an incredibly diverse area that gives us the opportunity to present our tapas, ports and wines with a focus on Cava that does not receive the attention it deserves.

Is always a great experience the reason we always choose as our first choice to celebrate special events. However yesterday was a bit out of the ordinary. There didn’t appear o be enough staff. One server Ashley was wonderful. She took our order for food and drinks. Came over to us to make sure all was well while we were eating and came to us again for tea or coffee. This was a celebration to celebrate a 75th birthday. After the tea she brought the persons birthday a lovely plate with fruit and chocolates. Very much appreciated. Not sure if her shift was over as after that didn’t see her again. However my star was a 4 (again no reflection on Ashley) The restaurant was very under staffed. She seemed to be the only server actually. We needed salt and pepper and had to go looking for it. There was none on any table. We saw how busy that girl was henceforth didn’t want to stress her out with something so trivial. Generally speaking the menu needs something new perhaps something in chicken. Plenty of fish dishes as well as beef and pork. However I don’t eat fish and very little red meat. Thank God for the pastrami sandwich 😁it’s the only choice. Would you consider the Caesar salad with chicken again or roast chicken. The dessert could also use a cake or pie. Apple pie or crumble is lovely after a meal. 👍 The atmosphere is impeccable as are the decorations for Christmas. The atmosphere is always calming and relaxing. Missed the doorman! Hopefully he will be there next time around. All and all it was a pleasant experience. Will be coming again in a couple of weeks for another birthday. You have to try this hotel at least once at Christmas is quite magical.

Superb restaurant - exciting flavours in a beautiful room. Each dish was really amazingly prepared and presented - would definitely look to go back again. Decent enough wine list for most people I’d say. Staff friendly and attentive. Hard to think of another restaurant in Dublin better than this.
