A celebration of Sherry, Wine, Tapas, & Friends. Influenced by the culture of sip-a-little-bit-of-this-and-eat-a-little-bit-of-that, Tapavino began in August 2012 as Australia’s first Sherry Bar in Sydney, in a little lane-way not unlike something you would find in the cobblestoned alleyways of Spain. Helped by the beautiful warm vibe that greets you as you step inside and take a seat among floor-to-ceiling wine bottles, Tapavino was named runner-up in Sydney Morning Herald's 'Best New Bar' Awards within 4-months of opening. 12-months later we were named 'Best Bar with Food'.

We are predominantly a seafood restaurant and are very fortunate to receive our seafood direct from our fishermen, caught sustainably and dry filleted here onsite at Margaret, so we can ensure that all that love and care our wonderful fisherman have taken is seen all the way through. Great and very helpful staff, they sadly had to sit us on the bar, but it wasn't so bad. The drinks are heavily over priced and I would just recommend to not bother, go somewhere else for drinks in the area there are better places much cheaper to get a good cocktail. The Orange chicken was by far the best dish, which is a shame for a Bao Bun place when you think about it. The Bao Buns were ok...not great, like Ipuddo makes better ones if you really want to try some. The chicken was dry, the meat was stringy, the pork belly one i didn't even bother eating because it looked bland, and there was no real crackling on it. In the end I recommend you get their burgers and the Orange Chicken as they're far more enjoyable than the buns. Shame really. TL;DR - Drinks cost too much (common problem, not exclusive to this place) - Staff are amazing - The buns are average - Everything else on the menu is better than the buns (the irony) - Ambience is really nice too!

Good food in the British style. However, if you are used to British curry houses, you'd expect the usual 4 dips to come with the papadums. Here they only provide mint sauce. Great value if you have a Citi credit card as get a free bottle of wine.
