Best Comfort Food Restaurants in North Providence

As always, another amazing evening at Pot au Feu! I have season tickets to PPAC on Sunday evenings but made a switch because my friend has been craving their duck breast confit. I had to steal a taste, and it was heavenly! I have been attempting to work my way through the menu and last night selected the steak frites which was cooked to perfection. Dinner begins with crusty French bread and a crock of soft butter and the most delicious of salads with your choice of two homemade dressings. Ordinarily, we save room for dessert, but since we wanted to savor every last bite of dinner, we didn't leave room. That only means our return trip will have to be very soon! As for service and ambiance, if you have not had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant, you will see how a guest is made to feel as though you're at home. Cozy and comfortable with little candles on each table, even though it was crowded and every table occupied, you feel as though you're in your own little secluded world. Bob Burke is the consummate host, making certain every patron is attended to and entirely satisfied. On this particular evening, our server, whose name escapes me, was delightful. Attentive yet not overbearing. It was a pleasure to see Hillary a long-time staff member whose two children Caleb and Katerina are now "bussers" and learning the intricacies of fine dining with a comfortable and casual flair. It was the perfect evening! Looking forward to my next visit at the Pot au Feu!

This was my 3rd time at the George. Food and service never disappoint! Both are exceptional! It’s pricier than other restaurants I typically visit, but it is so worth it! It is super noisy (all three times I have been sat at a 2-person table in the bar area; next time I will request to sit in the dining room area). If you love live music, the bar area is a great place to be, but don’t expect to have both music and conversation; also the locals sitting at the bar area definitely use their outdoor yelling voices to be heard over the music (so if you’re into ease-dropping, this could be your place! lol). In short, the bar is great if you know you’re walking in to a music and conversation room that will limit the amount of conversation you can have at your own table. If you are looking for dinner and conversation, I would not recommend NOT being sat in the bar area.

outstanding dining experience; the salmon with risotto; alongwith french onion burger were cooked perfectly; the pirnce edward island mussels for appetizer were sprite and tasty and the bread presented to soak up the broth was appreciated ... the newport restaurant group is at the top of the list for quality of food, ambience; presentation and pricing ...

Great Galentine event and information on wine pairing with meals. The pre price was great and appreciate the staff making substitutions due to allergies and specific diets

Our bartender, JR, was OUTSTANDING. He's made for bigger and better things than tending bar, but he seems to be very happy doing what he's doing, so we hope he's around for a while. He managed a full bar of at least 15 guests, perhaps more than 20, plus the restaurant diners' needs, and did it with a big smile, very friendly manner, and didn't miss a beat in our service. Seemed like at any given time he was doing two or three things at once — chatting with customers, taking orders, clearing, serving, making drinks, washing glasses and shakers, boxing up take-home, etc. But he did it all with a smile and super positive attitude. Bar'Lino really should have two bartenders working a bar that large, but at least the one they have was more than capable of handling it. Outside of the great service, we enjoyed our meals — really like the Bar Bites menu, especially the meatball sliders and pizzette. Paired with a salad, it was the perfect dinner for me.
