Beggar's Banquet has been making folks in East Lansing, Michigan beg for more since 1973. Not that the servings are small, but because you just don't want to stop experiencing one delicious menu item after another. It actually got its name from the proprietor's favorite Rolling Stones album that was released in 1968. The American cuisine at Beggar's Banquet is full of comfort food but with an elegant twist here and there. Options are plenty on the lunch menu, dinner menu, daily brunch menu and Sunday brunch menu. One notable item is the smoked salmon cake platter. The salmon is house-smoked then formed into three New England-style cakes, each with a different flavoring for variety that goes beyond anything you have ever had. Amazing food as always. We were sat by the door when there was no one in the restaurant and asked to move because it was a special occasion…and we wanted to spend time with the people we were dining with…instead they put us in the middle of the room. The restaurant was empty. It would have been nice to not be under the spotlight. The food was delicious!! The service was good not great. The server didn’t seem to know the menu very well or the types of booze they offered. The salad came after the entrees but otherwise it was great!

Your waitress was not very good at all but I still gave her an 18% tip .Therre were four of us and we all ordered at the same time , however the waitress forgot my wife's order. She did not offer biscuits until we asked. Maybe she was too busy or a new employee, if not she would not work for me.
