Hamrock's Restaurant is located within the Moore-McCandlish House (built 1842) in the heart of historic Fairfax City. We've been proud to serve delicious made-to-order American dishes using fresh ingredients since our establishment in 2016. We also have a wonderful hand-selected wine list to enhance your dining experience. Approximately eighty-percent of our menu is-- or can be-- gluten-free, as we use only canola and olive oil in all of our cooking. Some of our best-selling dishes are our southern fried chicken, grilled meatloaf, and crab cakes-- all which are gluten free! Other menu favorites include our deviled eggs, firecracker shrimp, Atlantic grilled salmon, roasted pork tenderloin, and penne pasta with andouille sausage & shrimp. Our waiter, Harrison, was very personable. He chatted with us about the airplane theme, history of Clyde's, and our anniversary. His service was very attentive and helpful but not smothering. We would definitely dine there again.

We had the most amazing dinner last evening at 1789. A group of college friends had a chance to gather for the Holy Cross vs Georgetown game and ended the day with a very special dinner. The service was attentive, warm and happily added a seventh seat to our table for six. Our waiter described the offerings beautifully and each part of the meal was even better than explained. This was the perfect spot for such a special dinner and one that will long be remembered.

It is a great restaurant from top to bottom. Wonderful appetizers through main entree through desert. They could update the glasses of wine choices. Also they should slow down the serving between courses by about 5 to 10 minutes.

This is a nice restaurant; however, service was not particularly attentive, one of us didn't get the meal they ordered, and almost everything in every dish had WAY TOO MUCH pepper in it to be truly enjoyable. A true shame because the overall quality of the food, otherwise, was quite good. Generous portions for each of the 4 dishes we ordered. Nice presentation. Just too much pepper.
