It all began with a love story and a dream. Linwood, a chef, and Ellen, a reporter, met 36 years ago in a restaurant of course! They married and began to envision that someday they would open a restaurant of their own. The restaurant’s first business plan was written at their dining room table on an electric typewriter. In 1988 Linwoods opened its doors, and it has been a labour of love for more than thirty years. Linwoods’ cuisine consists of the freshest ingredients, and inventive preparation. It was my girl birthday, let just say she had a blast. The food was Divine. It was the second time bringing her there. And we both loved it, most definitely will be going back. We had our favorite the prime rib with bone marrow and the king crab. Simply wonderful experience, the server was amazing 👏 as well.

It's been many years since I've been to the Tabard Inn, so long ago that I was living in Dupont on Riggs Place. It was low key and funky and much smaller. The present version is very different but equally enjoyable. Larger, still good food, but more space and fewer distractions. A great place to meet for breakfast and escape from the bustling of one of Washington's friendliest circles.

I ate here last night for my 21st birthday, and the food and drinks were great, and service was exceptional. Our waitress, Molly, was absolutely amazing. In addition to the caring service she went above and beyond to give me a pep talk and connect to me and my family. I appreciated it so very much.

Food was so amazingly good, from the roasted cauliflower to the tender and flavorful steak. The service was friendly and helpful, modifying the chef's menu for our vegetarian with shellfish allergy guest. And the overall enviroment was warm, welcoming, and cozy. My only complaint is that the experience is so good that no one wants to leave their tables! Like a great family dinner. Thank you
