Best Italian Restaurants in Tierrasanta

Starting off, George was amazing, and provided fantastic service. Ambience was cozy, sleek, and spacious, not over crowed tables, feels intimate. Food is incredible. We had the tuna tartar, so fresh and clean with buttery avocado, positano pizza was thin, crisp, and the perfect subtle ratio of sweet and salty. Cacio e pepe was al dente and creamy. Beet salad was fresh and bright, with juicy beets, Crunchy smoked almonds and slightly peppery arugala, the calamari was tender and a perfect amount of breading, not to heavy, very light. Short rib empanadas were perfect little meaty bites with a flaky crust and herbacious chimmichuri. All in all, would definitely come back to try one of the fire grilled meats and the charcuterie board...would also like to try the lobster tail. Oh, and the tiramisu was out of this world!!!

We had out-of-state company, and where better to go for a memorable dinner than Cesarina. We were seated on the side outside patio- it's lovely with lots of plants. Although it was a cold evening, the patio was very comfortable with the patio heaters and they even had blankets available if people got a chill. Classy and perfect. My husband and I wanted to leave room for the fabulous desserts so shared a Caprese salad to start. OMG! Such creamy and fresh burrata on heirloom tomatoes and very high quality balsamic. Delicious! We all had pastas, a hard decision on which one to get always. While one of my favorites is always the gnocchi with funghi sauce, I opted for the seasonal butternut ravioli with butter and sage for the sauce. It was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and the Barbera that the server suggested was perfect for it too. Yum. We finished the meal by sharing the tiramisu made tableside. I can't imagine how they are able to make Lady Fingers that melt in your mouth - the fresh ones at the base of the tiramisu topped by the expresso, mound of delicious puffy pastry cream and lots of chocolate make a dessert to remember. Such a delicious dinner, and reliably so. I have never had a bad, or even average, meal here. A favorite from the time they opened, and they just keep getting better.

My wife and I had not been there for years and I took her there for her birthday. We regretted that it had been so long since we visited because it was awesome. The service was wonderful and the food was AMAZING!! What more can I say?

Absolutely loved the experience, my girlfriend had told me about the restaurant. She loves the early 90s so the vibes of the restaurant was amazing for her, I loved the decor as well as the general ambiance. The vodka pasta was so good, I got the 40oz porterhouse. The outside was grilled perfectly as well as the medium on the inside. The drinks were so good from the Cabernet my girlfriend had to the Gin & Tonic I had were both wonderfully made. 10/10, will absolutely be suggesting this place to every couple we know as THE date night spot in San Diego.
