We know the word "fusion" has been wielded about to justify everything from Hula Burgers to Mexican lasagna. But the East-meets-South brand of fusion happening at Poor Calvin's? It's creative; it's innovative; and it's probably unlike anything you've tasted in the ATL. After working in kitchens around the world, Calvin Phan wanted to shake things up a little. And so, into the mac 'n cheese, the Thai spices went. Now, Calvin's giving Southern staples, like sea bass and fried chicken, a decidedly creative Asian-inspired twist (and a nip of spice, too). He has created innovative dishes, approached in much the same way, leave the hands of Calvin Phan day in and day out. His dedication and attention to detail are evident in each dish and dessert. You won't be disappointed.

My experience was perfection. Staff were welcoming & fluid, working seamlessly as a team. Zabare gave great drink/menu recommendations after learning my preferred flavor profiles. The food was incredible- generous portions, unique combinations, beautifully presented and beyond delicious. Exceeded all of my expectations!

Amazing food. The pound cake dessert was like no other. Zubear, our waiter was so personable and gave great recommendations. I thought he was just hyping everything up but everything is REALLY good. I hadn’t been in a while and I brought coworkers from out of town, they loved it. 10/10.

The food and service was nothing short of outstanding! We had the Steamed Dumplings, Drunken Noodles and Korean Ribs. We loved all of them! We thought the Collard Greens were the best we’ve tasted!

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Be prepared to park on the street. Bathrooms were not very tidy, but clean enough. Paper towels would be nice to open door when exiting. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

The service is exceptional. The drinks and cocktails are perfectly blended and creatively designed. The food is unique, well presented, and wonderfully delicious. The menu is simple but the choices are diverse and unusual in a good way. The atmosphere is hip, laid back, but very classy. This was my first time dining here and I will be returning.
