   We celebrated my birthday at PY Steakhouse and the night was perfect. Great wine. Great service. Great food. Even a handmade card from the staff. We love this restaurant and will definitely be back.

   We’ve dined at PY Steakhouse multiple times over the years and have always appreciated its reputation for quality, attentive service, and elevated dining. It’s been a reliable choice for celebrations and date nights,but our most recent experience was deeply disappointing and left us questioning whether we’ll return. The evening started out promising. We were greeted warmly, seated promptly, and our server was personable and attentive right from the start. The ambiance, as always, was elegant and inviting, and we were looking forward to another memorable evening. Our appetizer arrived in good time and was enjoyable, and we were still feeling optimistic about the meal. But after that, the service completely dropped off. We waited over an hour—yes, a full hour—for our entrées, with no communication or updates from the staff. In that time, not a single person checked on us. Our drinks sat empty for so long we debated whether to flag down another server, which is not something we’ve ever felt the need to do at an upscale restaurant like this. When our food finally arrived, things somehow went from bad to worse. I ordered the chicken entrée, which was visually overcooked on the outside, yet shockingly underdone,still bloody in the middle. This was not only unappetizing, but also a serious food safety concern. The braised short rib, which my partner ordered and had been looking forward to, was dry, lacked seasoning, and tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp rather than being freshly prepared. There was no depth, no richness—just a bland, tough piece of meat that did not reflect the skill or flavor PY Steakhouse has previously been known for. What made the experience even more frustrating was the complete absence of any recovery from the staff. No one asked how our meals were. No one refilled our drinks or offered apologies for the delays. At this price point, we expect not only quality food but consistent and attentive service.

   I’ll start by saying, this has been and probably still will be my favorite steakhouse in Tucson. This night however, was not their best night. I took my wife out for an early Mother’s Day dinner on Saturday night. The calamari was rubbery, like it was overcooked. My wife ordered a filet mignon, medium. It was perfect. I ordered the cowboy ribeye, medium rare. It was cooked somewhere between medium well and well done. I’m not the one to complain and ruin the night but our server didn’t even really check on us after we got our food so I didn’t have much of a chance to say anything. The table next to us had something wrong with their halibut, so she was busy tending to them all night. When the second server came to clear our table she asked if I wanted a box and I told her no, it was overcooked. She apologized and cleared the table. Like I said, probably just a bad night, but you should know so you can improve.

   From the moment we entered the restaurant to leaving we were treated like we were the only ones at the restaurant. They provided special touches, were personable and respectful, professional and polite! I highly recommend anyone who wants to have a night out with quality food, ambience and experience needs to come here!

   The food and service were superb as usual! We had Bin 424 Pinot Noir, basil cucumber gimlet, pork belly appetizer, NY Strip, Filet, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, polenta, baked potato, sticky toffee dessert, and chocolate souffle with our coffee. Spectacular tasting food and exemplary service!

   Wednesday Prime Rib Special was well worth the drive from Southeastern AZ. Staff was very attentive and made our anniversary celebration something to remember.

   I have been to this restaurant eight times now. I don’t even live in Tucson. I live in Atlanta. But every time I’m here on work we seem to go there because we have such great food and such a great experience. The food is just excellent. And they have a bunch of little hidden surprises to make the dinner entertaining and enjoyable. The staff is as nice as can be. Highly recommend.
