The first Lettuce Entertain You restaurant, Grunts still exudes the funky, devil-may-care lifestyle of the 70s in its style, décor, music, and menu. Happily for all of us, the best eating of that day continues to be some of the best today.

While there's a huge menu that's as much fun to eat your way through as it is to read, many of Grunts' old favorites spark return visits. The burgers are arguably the best in town. The new 'digital' salad bar boasts many of your favorite fresh ingredients daily. Giant malts and milkshakes are hand scooped and come in a rainbow of favors. Oh! Don't forget the barbecued baby back ribs, and sandwich specials.

Best burgers in the downtown area. Small place with big crowds. Pricey, but you’re in Lincoln Park, so expected.

It’s a an annual tradition to visit RJ Grunts for the holidays for my family. We had a great time as always. Love the service, vibe, and food. Next year I won’t go on Christmas Eve as Lincoln Park Zoo is closed so no zoo lights :( Instead, we enjoyed a nice walkaround the neighborhood after eating. I will say the bartender must’ve punched out for Christmas early (who can blame them) because the cocktails were average at best. We will be back next year!

They gave us the worst table for 2. Like tiny corner table that fits 2 plates only and a jar of water. You can’t relax while eating because all you do is concentrating on how not to push things off the table and where to keep your own legs, the space was extremely limited. I requested the waitress to move us to another table (there were free tables available) but request was ignored. The food was Ok, price is average, we could order more but the discomfort of sitting prevailed. As tourists we didn’t like the experience. Sorry(((

Easy place to bring kids, good food and ambiance. The service was attentive, music loud for 11 am.

Food was good as usual even though I noticed the portion size is reduced in their "new and improved" version of what I ordered (tuna melt). Service was attentive and pleasant. For some reason they have discontinued having lemonade--didn't know it was that fringe of a beverage. Unfortunately LEYE still insists on the petty service charge. Since COVID basically ended, and the money is NOT going to the servers, where is the money going? I think I know.
