About this restaurant

  • Great for live music
  • Romantic
  • Good for special occasions
18th & 21st brings something fresh and classic to Columbia, Maryland. Named after the Constitutional Amendment that enacted Prohibition and then subsequent Amendment that repealed it, 18th & 21st promises to bring back a bygone era through an elevated, tailored evening experience. Our food and cocktails reflect the feel of prohibition supper clubs. This not to say we're stuck in the past, but rather that we try and emulate the style of that era. That means beautiful presentation, careful crafting, and perfect pairings to keep your night on beat. Combined with live music, this creates an unparalleled experience for the discerning and adventurous looking for a sophisticated evening. Due to the nature of the experience at 18th & 21st we request that all diners be over the age of eighteen.

First time here. The service and efficiency was outstanding from the hostess to our servers. The ambiance was excellent, the live music was awesome, so we had a wonderful time. The food was excellent, fresh, great presentation and delirious. I tipped my server and the musicians heavy as they earned it and deserved it. 5 stars here.

I would have given this place 2 star for overall experience but the starters were delicious and the ambience was very classy yet vibrant (live band was so good). The main entrees and the desserts were just decent and definitely nothing to rave about. Our experience with the waiter/server was what made dining at 18th & 21st so disappointing. He was NOT attentive nor helpful - rather I found him to be quite passive aggressive in his responses when our party (politely) asked questions about particular dish. He actually seemed annoyed at serving. If he's not excited to work there or to help the clients at the restaurant, he shouldn't be serving. Or perhaps because he already knew that there would be 20% tip included that he didn't care whether to be helpful, kind or attentive? We spent over $525.00 for a party of 6 but the experience makes me want to cross off this restaurant from future dining.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your visit to 18th & 21st fell short of expectations, particularly when it came to the service you received. Attentiveness and hospitality are cornerstones of what we strive to deliver, and it’s disappointing to learn that we fell short of our standards and your expectations. What you described is not reflective of the level of service we aim to provide, regardless of gratuity or party size. We are never ones to offer excuses and we won't start now. What we can offer is our sincere apology for missing the mark during your time with us. We do hope that you might offer us another opportunity in the future to serve you in a manner that I know our team can. Vince Culotta Managing Partner

This was our first visit to the restaurant. We came for Mother's Day and the food was excellent. Our server, however, was mediocre; not very warm or engaging. For such a nice restaurant, I would expect them to have more welcoming wait staff. He was very bland, non-dynamic, and maybe doesn't realize that part of having dinner is beyond the food. It's the experience. He also seemed annoyed when I asked if there was a side with the salmon. The manager/owner visited our table and was very nice and so was the person who delivered the bread basket. I would definitely go back for the food, but I would ask for a different server.

Made a reservation for my mom on Mother's Day. She had an amazing time at the restaurant AND the whole experience was phenomenal. As soon as you walk in the dining area, you felt like you walked back in time into the Great Gatsby Era. There was a pianist playing and the dining area felt quite cozy and intimate. The staff was amazing. Our waiter Michael was always checking in and the managers were also coming to our table to check in. One of the options we had was their lobster risotto...delicious! We also had salmon eggs Benedict and to end the brunch was their churros. I highly recommend going there for any special occasion or for a romantic dinner. I will definitely be going back!

18th & 21st never disappoints. The food and wine were delicious as expected. The service was excellent as always. The entertainment (Kevin Howard Trio) was as fantastic as always, but Chordy singing along just took it to another level. I had so much fun and really enjoyed the evening. Thank you.

Nice atmosphere with friendly people. Some main menu items not available such as raspberry sorbet with wonderful waiter explaining ran out night before. But the restaurant should have made or bought more, disappointing
