   Excellent food. Scallops were divine! Ambience was aided by piano/vocalist. Overall, very pleasant experience.

   We are a couple who booked a table for 6.00pm to go to a concert afterwards at the NCH (10 mins walk from 1900). We had never been to 1900 before. We mentioned to the waiter that we needed to leave in time for the concert - from the waiting staff were extra helpful without rushing us. We were given a comfortable booth. The ambience was relaxed with background music that was pleasant and not intrusive. The food arrived pretty quickly so we were able to have three courses (we’d not eaten since breakfast!) in a relaxed way before paying and leaving in good time for the concert afterwards. We had the goat’s cheese and the crab for starters and the halibut for mains, followed by the chocolate tart and the passion fruit cheese cake. For drinks we had Tempranillo by the glass, followed by coffee/martini express. The food looked fabulous and tasted gorgeous - the seasoning was balanced and the flavors in each dish complemented each other perfectly. By offering a limited menu of exquisitely prepared dishes the chef has hit all the right notes. The total bill was €173 - at the end of our usual eating out budget and the whole experience was so good that we paid it happily and left a generous tip. Highly recommended and we’ll be back. And “No, the careering steam engine, from Valentine’s Day 1900, didn’t disturb us!”

   The food was exquisite, so delicious, and served without delay and the waiters were very pleasant. Fresh, warm bread served while we waited, with fresh butter and divine pepper pesto. A pianist started playing around 7pm as we were finishing dessert and she was very talented, perfect volume balance and beautiful choice of songs. The atmosphere in the restaurant was perfect, we will be back!

   Myself and my wife had a lovely meal in 1900 last Saturday evening, celebrating our wedding anniversary. We arrive a little bit earlier for our booking and Jean Paul looked after us straight away. True gentleman. The ambience is perfect. Live piano music adds to the occasion and the food is delicious. I recommend 1900 for that special treat. We will be back. Delicious food, fantastic attentive staff and great atmosphere. Thank you.

   The staff were amazing so helpful and attentive. There was a lady singing and playing the Piano and this added a lovely ambiance to the evening. I ordered Scallops for starter and Halibut for my mains and both were delicious. Some of our group had Steaks and they said they were also delicious. This is a great place to have dinner.

   As per other reviews , stunning food & staff especially of course the wonderful John /Paul Who took time to chat & made us feel so welcome . We had early reservation (5.15pm ) so restaurant quiet enough but lights dimmed automatically to create lovely intimate ambience .

    Love dining here! Jean Paul is always a gracious host. We really enjoy the unpretentious atmosphere with an intentional focus on overall customer experience with great attention to detail from the moment you walk in the door. Very accommodating to special requests. Food is delicious as are the cocktails. Thank you, see you again soon!
