   Save your money and go somewhere else. I love afternoon tea and have tried lot of places, this one goes down as a waste of time. Food is ok but nothing more, not much flavours and all meat apart from salmon. Didn’t finish the scotch eggs or the roast beef? Sandwich. Had to ask for scones even though we were told they should “ be on the way” had to wait another 10 min. Scones were really big but unfortunately one was a bit undercooked. (Doughy) clotted cream tasted like butter. The highlight was the cheesecake which was delicious. A lot of staff and waiters/waitresses no one was attentive or even asked if we enjoyed the food. Staff running left and right and different waiters constantly. You don’t feel valued or even cared for at all apart from one lovely lady lady with glasses. When asked for the bill we had to wait another 5-10 min for someone to actually come and take payment. Again no thank you no bye no “how was your experience “ never experienced something like this. Nice decor yes but I rather spend my money somewhere else and enjoy the food and good service.

   Beautiful setting apart from the man finishing off the Xmas install and moved around the floor on a ladder whilst restaurant was open!!! Very disappointing that to have one small roll changed there was £5 surcharge . Wasn’t offered more tea or clean plates/cutlery for the cakes. Food amazing staff friendly and polite

   This is my 3rd time visiting but so disappointed. We stood waiting for 30 mins to be seated and then another 30 mins for our order to be taken. 4 of us chose the bottomless brunch but spent so much time with our glasses empty. Such a shame as my 2 previous visits were great. Sorry but I won’t be returning.

   Booked at 3pm weren’t seated until 3.45 which was an absolute joke. Took ages to gets served and had to ask for the bill twice after 30 mins of waiting. Staff were not attentive and we had to chase out drinks order and food

   Had the worse experience ever! Booked a table 3pm got seated 3:40 Rude lady at reception had attitude! Saying she called our name out twice we was standing in front of her she never called our name. She argued with us and I said you never called our name. And gave our seats to someone else! Rude! She never even said SORRY!!!! Sat us down finally the food was lovely. But tea was cold! Forgot our water. And just ruined everything. We wasn’t the only ones waiting 40 minutes to be seated Not very nice. Will not be returning!!!

   Roast is beautiful inside. A lovely place for afternoon tea. The food was excellent the best we’ve had. My only disappointment was an extra charge for a fresh pot of tea. Servi ce was quite good.

   Had the afternoon tea of which the food was good but not outstanding. The service was poor. We had to ask for more tea, at no point did anybody ask how the food was or if we would like anything. Just after an hour we were told by a waiter that they needed our table back in 10 minutes when we were still eating, which we were extremely surprised about and thought we may have at least been given a half hour warning. The ambience and decor was lovely. Overall the service really ruined this for us and could be improved greately.

    We treated my Nan for her birthday, amazing experience and the food was fantastic. The service was amazing, would highly recommend and will definitely be back!
