   We went in the off season, so we could walk right in and were seated by a fire roaring in a big kiva stove. One of us was blown away by the Brussels sprouts (I can’t be near them in any form) and delighted by the Chilean sea bass (with a wild mushroom risotto and sun-dried tomato beurre blanc. I had a wedge salad (I may have pedestrian tastes) with a bleu cheese dressing that was made special by a touch of tarragon. My beef ribeye with a jalapeño demi-glace was beautifully tender and fatty, just the way I like it and rarely get it in Chicago (surprising, I know). There is also a huge and friendly bar if that’s where you like to congregate. Highly recommend.

   The food here is amazing, on the other hand the service is absolutely terrible I don’t know if it’s because I’m a younger gentleman or what but I was avoided the whole night!! Had reservations for 8:15 didn’t get seated until 9 took us over 45 minutes just to place our order and about another 45 just for the food to come out mind u only 20 people were in the restaurant , server was absolutely horrible asked for the check and a box and it even took that forever to come, in the back u could hear a worker yelling how excited he is for how much money he is about to make, instead of worrying about the money ur making MAKE MY DAMN FOOD, avoid this place at all cost.

   No ambiance, no music, fair service. Too expensive for the food qulity. Overall, not great. Way more expected for the price of services.

   Service was weak Food was good When I received the bill .... I knew it was $92 per person. However They took the liberty of automatically adding a $51 22% tip. Not worth it. Then after running the CC card they wanted more tip. Don't recommend this restaurant.

   Our server was terrible. When we needed to send a drink back, he took it personally and avoided our table the rest of the night. We were not the only table dining that had problems with him. The supervisor took over our table and was wonderful. He apologized and made our experience great. With so many fantastic restaurants in Sante Fe, service is important; it leaves a mark.

   The cheese burgers the kids had were great, our appetizers, entrees, desserts and wine were also delicious.

   Cocktails were late Dinner arrived before. Ordered wine and was given sparkling. Got the new years dinner fixed price. Not worth the money. Gratuity was charged mandatory at 22%. Service was choppy. Staff were very confused

   We enjoyed visiting Agave for New Years Eve dinner. Unfortunately we experienced a prefix meal selection rather than the normal offerings. Overall our server was good, but things seemed rushed and impersonal. Our surf and turf were adequate portions however steak temp was not asked when the order was taken and one of our meals arrived with an overcooked filet. Lengthy time waiting for a fresh meal disrupted our meal and made things awkward. We enjoyed the Conch Chowder and Endive Salad and desert. Would like to experience Agave when the full menu is available and the dinning experience is slower paced and more relaxed.

    We ate at Agave for our Christmas dinner. Prix Fixe. Cocktails, salad and dessert were fine but ,the dinner - a fatty slab of prime rib - was sub par for the price.
